    Neither can I, sadly.

He seems to have so much faith in Gordon but I can't see why, as it is clear he cannot play in this style of football, not to mention his brain farts like today.

Do people actually believe we’ll go out and spend serious money or is this all just wishful thinking? I’ll believe it when I see it, it just seems like we never build from our position of strength ever.

There's probably more chance we'll spend than you ever being positive about anything

I’m fairly positive about us improving this season but I can’t see the board to spending big to improve to team in January as we all would hope.

Everyone saying its a big window ahead(and it is) and BR has said he can't wait until the Winter break to reset. Well it looked like the players were already thinking about Sunny Dubai yesterday. We still have important games until that break. So we need to focus now starting on Wed and I'm hoping for a big reaction.

I do, if not in Jan, then in the summer.

Roberts needs replaced, top defensive mid needed for Europe, new right back, two centre backs, keeper - If Rodgers isn't shown ambition he won't hang around long, the board know this.

He needs to utilise the squad more we looked absolutely shattered yesterday from the off... we must have played more games than anyone else in Europe, with CL qualification, cup runs, internationals and done with only about two weeks off. The performance levels have dropped and it's testament to our players that they remained consistent enough to keep the run going..

There's always pressure when you play for Celtic but it did look like the fear of losing had become more important than winning well. Let's hope the players can reset and respond between now and the window and they should welcome some fresh blood in Jan..

De Vries, Ralston, Ajer, Hayes and Bitton should all see more game time as well as Miller and Johnston.

We've been guilty of overplaying Lustig, KT and Brown especially as they are leaders on and off the park.

Brendan Rodgers has revealed he'd be open to a Liverpool return, in a new book ‘LOST? Liverpool FC and English Football at the Crossroads,’ by Anthony Carragher, available in selected bookstores and online. Here are some thoughts and quotes from a thoroughly enjoyable read.

Former legendary Boot Room stalwart Roy Evans could never have envisioned where Liverpool are today, all these years without the crown. "No, not in a million years. I thought we would win it in my time. It was always about trying to win games. We scored a lot of goals, we made defensive mistakes too, but that was part and parcel of how we played, with the players that we had. One year we got very close, but we didn’t get over the line, but from there on you would have expected to go forward. Brendan made a good challenge, but between those times it’s never really been that close.

And as Manchester City spent whatever oil dollars spewed from the Abu Dhabi wells it seemed that the task of winning was becoming harder and harder. ‘Year on year, it gets more difficult you know,' Brendan Rodgers told me, ‘It is tough, but it is a fantastic challenge and that’s the great prospect when you manage Liverpool.’ Rodgers has since proven his managerial mettle at Celtic. I ask would he return one day to Liverpool and he doesn’t hesitate with his reply ‘Yeah, 100 per cent’. When that might happen, who knows, but many would welcome his return.

This year to save me from tears, I gave it to Ronny Deila

Brendan Rodgers praised his team's performance in their 2-0 win over Partick Thistle tonight at Paradise: "I tip my hat to the players. It’s absolutely brilliant. They showed a great reaction tonight. Now we can recover and get ready for the weekend."

BR: "I said to the players before the game that they will define themselves as a team in their reaction to disappointment. I thought tonight they reacted very well, it was always going to be a tricky game."

BR: " It’s so tough for the players. They’re virtually playing back to back season. It’s absolutely incredible the energy they have to put into games."

BR: "You see the condition of the players in how strong the got as the game went on. There’s certain parts of the team where you need that energy and need to be dynamic and the players showed that this evening.

BR: "What was important for us tonight was keeping a clean sheet. I think as a team we defended very well and counter pressed very well."

BR: "We had to be patient at the beginning. Obviously Alan sets his teams up very well and they’re very organised so there wasn’t a great deal of space. We needed that little bit of magic from Stuart, it’s an absolutely brilliant goal.

BR: "We know the game will be tough at the weekend like they always are with Aberdeen. We have some greet games to finish off what has been an incredible run of games since June."

    Agree completely

How many times have we thought to ourselves “we will spend” in January and it never happens. The whole support knows we need investment but it will probably be the usual * of signing 1 unknown player for about 2 million quid or something.

Our games with the sheep and the zombies will determine how much we spend in my opinion. But we will more than likely win both and the board will be content.

Hopefully the big man brings in a gk, holds on to dembele and signs a decent cb (who can preform in Europe) in January, that will be enough. I know a RB is too much to ask for, and I know chances are none of the above will happen.

BR: “Every game that we’ve played against Aberdeen, even though we’ve won, they’re still tough games. At this period of the season when you’re coming off the back of a really busy schedule then of course it is a difficult game.”

BR: “But we’re at home, we’re playing in front of a full house and our supporters are a priceless source of inspiration. How a team can be motivated by that level of commitment is a huge plus for us, especially in these moments where we are playing a lot of games.”

BR: “There was a fantastic crowd at our game last night in a difficult period for families and supporters who are having to fork out money. They turn up in our numbers so we want to go into this game on Saturday and get the remaining points for them.”

BR: “Aberdeen are a team that’s been consistent. For us we know there’s a number of teams that will make it difficult at the top end. We’re looking forward to Saturday, it’s a great game to be involved in.”

BR: “He’s a good guy, Derek. He clearly wants improvement and wants the team to be better and not only that, wants to improve the club. I think the job he’s done has proven that. He’s got them up there challenging and credit to him and his staff.”

BR: “I said to the players a number of weeks ago our three targets coming towards the 30th of December were to win the #BetfredCup, qualify for the #UEL and a double figure advantage by the time the winter break comes.”

BRENDAN RODGERS never doubted his side’s character in defeat — because he has no d***heads in his dressing room.

Celtic’s record-breaking 69-game unbeaten run came to a crashing end at Tynecastle last week.

But just three days after the crushing 4-0 loss, the Hoops got back on track with victory over Partick Thistle.

And Rodgers reckons the unique team spirit forged over 585 unbeaten days of domestic competition will stand them in good stead for the title run-in.

The Celtic boss revealed: “We had a reflective couple of days after Hearts, as we always do whether we win, lose or draw.

“You saw the response of the team on Wednesday night. It is all part of the culture we have here. We are very lucky, we have got no d***heads.

“There is no pointing fingers, that’s what is important. We are very self-reflective.

“We weren’t so good against Hearts, but, as I said to the players, you are defined on disappointment in your life.

“As a man and as a team, how do you respond and get up from it? The players did that.

“What could have been a very awkward game for us against a stubborn opponent who drew with us at home last season went well.

“To go 69 games without losing and win four trophies is a really good start. Your name is now carved in history. So now let’s push on to the next phase.”

Celtic host nearest challengers Aberdeen at Celtic Park. The Dons too are back on track following two months of uncertainty surrounding manager Derek McInnes.

And Rodgers insisted: “I think the stability has probably really helped them. Even before my time up here Aberdeen have been the team closest to Celtic.

“There was obviously a choice for Derek to make and I think he maybe said himself at the time that there was an impact on the team in the couple of games they had against Rangers.

“But since that they’ve had a good reaction.”

Rodgers secured his first signing of the January transfer window on Wednesday when Celtic agreed a deal for RB Leipzig defender Marvin Compper.

In all likelihood his arrival spells the end of Erik Sviatchenko’s Celtic career with others set to follow if Rodgers can attract new recruits.

The Hoops boss said: “There will naturally be players who have not been playing who will be looking to move on. It was an area we wanted to strengthen so obviously there will be fewer opportunities for some guys.

“It allows them to come in every day knowing where their future is, how hard they need to work. If it’s here, great, if not they need to prepare for the next move.”
