Don't know why people think we can make him into a CB, players spin in behind too often when he plays CB in a 4..

He is decent in a back 3 tho..

    30?! :56:

A football player should be in his prime at 30 years old. To be fair to Lustig, I think he's peaked last couple of seasons but starting to regress a bit this season.

No doubt he's been a fantastic servant for us. But it's clear as * we need another RB in and have done for a couple of seasons in my opinion. Gamboa is so far out the picture I wouldn't even class him as a first team player at the moment.

He's never been the fastest tho, remember people being concerned Hayes or McGinn would expose him last season..

His positional sense usually makes up for his lack of pace, he's an important squad member tho..and will remain so this season.

But we will need to strengthen if not Jan, in the summer..

SCOTT Sinclair singled out his team-mate Mikael Lustig for his crucial contribution in Celtic’s thrilling 2-2 draw with Hibernian at Easter Road yesterday (Sunday).

The Hoops winger grabbed a brace as he took his Premiership goals tally for the season to seven. His second-half strikes gave Celtic a two-goal lead, but Hibernian fought back with two goals of their own to draw level.

Celtic dominated the game and could have scored more but Neil Lennon’s side almost snatched victory right at the death when Oli Shaw was gifted a golden opportunity to score Hibs' third of the afternoon. However, Mikael Lustig was on hand to clear the ball off the line and preserve Celtic’s unbeaten run, which now stands at 68 games.

“It was a great clearance from Mikael,” Sinclair said after the match. “He showed his quality to get back and do what he does best.”

Despite going five points clear at the top of the Premiership, and with a game in hand, Sinclair said he and his team-mates were disappointed not to have taken all three points in the game.

“It was end-to-end," he said. "When we went 2-0 up I thought we had the game in control and we sort of threw it away I think. I thought we would win the game when we were two goals ahead and I thought we would win it comfortably. When we conceded two goals we threw it away and it felt like a loss.

“I’m always reacting. When we get shots off, the gaffer always wants the front three to get forward and react if it comes off the keeper or the post and that’s what I did. I go into every game full of confidence so I’m always confident to score goals and play as well as I can.”

I think this is already happening. Lennon knew that Barker would leave him for dead in the second half. Most of their play came down that side.

Any manager with half a clue about us will do the same, he's an easier target than KT for example.

True, plus they'll still have the mastermind of the 1-1 draw in charge... :fear:
