Fair enough but Wanyama is most likely an outlier as far as taking gambles on young talent go.

I don't like to be negative but I'll never be optimistic about the last 16 until I see the draw. Did anyone believe we had a chance with the last two groups?
I'm sure Leicester's group last season was one we might have had a fighting chance in.

The difference is Leicester benefitted from the changes in seeding, ie as winners of their league they went straight into pot 1.

Have to disagree. I think if Brendan started with Ntcham we would have won the game.

Sorry you're right but I would've fancied our chances if Leicester were one of the seeds :100:

The draw is vital for any European group or tie. We got the best placing we could have. There can be no debating that. I'm very disappointed with some of the performances thus far however. Last night's was a set-back compared to Bayern at home. Got to give Rogers and the players credit for their tactics and efforts in that match. Anderlecht away speaks for itself as well no matter what state they were in.

Hopefully we'll find these players at the back and attack which we're needing and be ready for next season.

Ah the pope... once the RA was mentioned, the pope was only a few comments away! (again how original)

I'm neither a catholic nor a supporter of a paramilitary group.... I guess it's now completely impossible for me to be a Celtic supporter!! :87:

Maybe that's the big problem with many of you guys.... it's just not enough about the football for some of you!

I think some of you guys are pretending to support a football team.... when you are really just part of a social group, that just happens to have a football team attached to it.

Here's some advice for you guys: Perhaps if you made it more about the football, and less about the unimportant fringe sh!te, like religion and politics.... perhaps your eyes might open a bit. And then you might see that our (once) great club, is falling further and further behind the rest of european football. All the while, you guys celebrate mediocrity and pat yourselves on the back every time someone tells us how great fans we are!

Is it really enough that we are seen throughout europe, as fun place to visit because we create a great atmosphere...?? That's it.... that's the sum total of how many people in europe now view us! We are not viewed as a serious european football club, with big ambitions!! Sorry, but that's not good enough. We are better than that....

Have you noticed everyone has "lower standards than you"?

You are the only common denominator.

You should chew on your sisters pubes while you think about that.

I have no idea mate, never seen him or even had heard of him until we agreed a fee.

Rodgers wanted him that’s all I needed to know.

The rest of European football, the elite is being propped up by billions of euros through high profile sponsorship deals and TV rights. By oil rich countries in some cases. Please tell us how we are supposed to compete with that level of investment? Even Anderlecht's budget dwarfs ours.

Until such times as we can afford to buy players for tens of millions as and when we feel like it, this will be what we're up against. Our level is the EL, our objective was to qualify for it and we've achieved it so let's see how we get on there before spouting drivel about being some kind of European nobody and berating the team for the fact they've managed to achieve a respectable accomplishment in the grand scheme of things.

We've got the best guy we could hope for at the helm, BR knows what last night was and knows what we need better than you, me or anyone else.

In this case I think we go for the second option :50:
