The thing that got me about last night with Rodgers is that we never played the way Rodgers always wants us to, so he changed it to make us solid and stop Anderlecht dominating which did work, so why didn't he do the same against PSG? This whole thing of not wanting to park the bus is just stubborn and naive, we don't need to park the bus just be more compact, press the right areas at the right time and use our pace on the counter. We would get a lot more results in Europe playing that way.

Like Anderlecht last night defending would basically be a 433 high press then attacking switched to an offset 343 to target our right hand side while keeping their right wing back on the touchline. You play to the strength of your team and target the opponents weakness, their weakness was in the middle of the pitch, there was so much space yet we never took advantage of that.

@CookieMonster because PSG are a completely different monster than Anderlecht.

Exactly, so we actually set up more defensive agianst Anderlecht than PSG.

so youve never heard the old * in the pub go on about how under jock stein that everyone in europe feared playing us and how its not the same anymore blah blah blah :56:. i feel like younger fans often have a more realistic idea of our place in the football world tbf. being born into a time of tv deals dictating the spending power of teams

Surely if we were looking at CBs in the summer we had to have an alternative to Coetzee if the deal fell through for any reason?

Klopp got pelters from the Liverpool fans and media for only having eyes for VVD and no one else, and look at their defence as a result.

He’s had plenty of time to assess what he’s got and hopefully now he gets a couple of decent players in on January, remember this is still more or less Delias team so let’s just wait and see what happens in the transfer window HH

After the defeat to Anderlecht, I think the winter break is beckoning. We still have SEVEN fixtures to go in December, all league ties and big games against Rangers, Hibernian and Aberdeen. If we make it to the break (which follows the huns game on December 30) with the unbeaten record intact, then that would be beyond sensational.

Rodgers' domestic record remaining immaculate, a cup already in the bag, progress in Europe having qualified. Get to the winter break unbeaten and Rodgers will be half way to another perfect season.

You could hardly call our european performances, as highlights of a perfect season... not sure I would want to watch any season highlight video clip produced by you!! :101:

We were 12 points behind 2nd place, with a -13 goal differential.... I will repeat that, 12 points behind 2nd place!! That is beyond shocking tbf... we are not so bad that we should be celebrating such mediocrity!!

The first halfway decent team we face in the europa, will easily dump us out of europe based on how rubbish we were in this competition! There are very few teams that will fear us, if they watch that sh!te!!

Rodgers hasn't got a clue what he's doing in europe. He's like a * deer in the headlights tbh!

Wow, how very original you are!

You call it moaning... I call it constructive criticism. And it's also called having higher standards.

If some people want to take sh!te, and convince themselves that it's caviar... be my guest. But not all of us are so easily hoodwinked. :40:

    No it's not.

PSG and Bayern are two of the 5 best teams in the world.

There is no defence of his European record so far. Night and day with our last manager in every department however and still early days.

Yes it is... there is no way that we should be celebrating being 12 points behind 2nd place.... that is NOT a celebration!!

That is failure. And it is being dressed up as success, by our deluded manager and his army of equally delusional sycophantic fanboys!

Anderlecht were sh!te in this group, and we were only marginally less sh!te than them! (being a fraction less sh!te than the worst team, does not mean you had success)

Liverpool fans got tired of Rodgers bluffing and waffle... but many of our fans seem to be happy to swallow his nonsense! He fools many of our fans far too easily!
