Did Lenny manage to even get us into the CL in his first two attempts?

Qualifying is our goal at the moment..

 

Let's remember, it was Lenny's 3rd season before he did anything in Europe, his first two seasons were disastrous. Rodgers has got us into the CL group stages both seasons and has us now playing in the Europa League after Christmas.

 

Starting Armstrong was a mistake but he made the correct changes at half time.

 

Don’t think so. But when he did we were fantastic in the CL group with Barca, Spartak & Benfica. That Barca game and Spartak away win are our best results in European football for many a year now. Solid enough in every game that year, including the nou camp.

Lennon hard much harder qualification games aswell. His first we lost to Braga away in Portugal. We had Lincoln Red imps, we turned that one around at Parkhead thankfully.

 

Fair play he changed at half time but dunno what the thinking was on our left hand side tierney had no support the entire game

Aye I'm not knocking how well Lenny did, but BR has done amazingly well with 2/2 qualifying campaigns..

And now EL qualification.. just need a bit of reality.

Lenny spent the McGeady money well, MON got the cash..

BR needs backed with cash or even given all of Dembele cash when he inevitably is sold..

 

Yeah I agree he’s done a fantastic job in qualifying but teams like Linfield, Rosenberg and Astana we should be beating.

The last 2 campaigns have been pretty bad though. 6 points from 12 games and conceding 7 twice. Don’t think he’ll be the man to lead us to last 16 but 10 IAR will do

 

He's not even 2yrs into the job yet, and we drew 4 of the best teams on the planet.. Barca, Man City, PSG & Bayern.. too soon for him to make a difference with what he's got squad wise at the moment..

What he's done with the squad he's inherited has been remarkable, and now he's added real class too.

Disappointing campaigns overall we need to try and look at the positives.. and not write him off before he's even got going..

Do you think BR is beyond criticism? Seen a few asking the question tonight. As much as I like him and want to see him Celtic manager for years I’d like to see his tactics change I Europe. Especially playing out form the back might work if you PSG, Barca ect but we just lose it in our own half far to many times in Europe.

 

He was honest enough to admit that Anderlecht deserved to win. I think He'll be having differing views on a few players after tonight.

 

He definitely needs backed in January, we're essentially still playing with Deila's team barring a couple of players which makes it even more exceptional that he's qualified twice for the group stages and got europa league after Christmas but some of our players just don't have it at this level and they never will.

 

I think he's got a way of playing that's pure and won't be swayed from playing that way.. he doesn't have the personnel yet to make us the full package at that level.. but when he gets the players it will be a thing to witness.

He's arrogant and totally convinced of his way of playing so we need to be patient and allow him to try and take us to that level..

It was always going to be a bit of a rollercoaster in Europe with BR.. but what you rather have Moyes?

A ball playing GK and a CB who can pass is what he needs in Jan..

 

I dont think we have the money for his philosophy to work in the champions league.

We got through but losing all 3 home games is incredibly disheartening

 

Aye his word choice was very interesting.

Think he knows for sure niw, boyata and armstrong just arent good enough for this level.
We will do well to cash in and get 5+ mill for armstrong. And boyata could do with being dropped, if only we had a fit cb ready. Ajer needs to grab his chance now.

Think he will also be glad to see ntcham deserves to be first team pick as well.

 

He says he wouldn’t change his philosophy, well I’m sorry tonight he did his team was sent out not to lose by more than 3 goals.
