Spot on ! Can still attack and plah while playing negative a game being over at half time is inacceptable when if done another way keeps it tighter

Qualifying for the Champions league then finishing in a Europa spot and getting through the first two legs will far outweigh the pumpings we've taken off of the so called elite clubs. Lets be honest games against those teams were always damage control. Admittedly tactics coulda been better but they still have the quality to put 5 past you at least playing defensively or not.

    I'd add..

There's nobody I'd rather have managing our club. He's the best man for the job, to have a Celtic orientated manager of his calibre is a miracle for us tbh..

Agree with this to an extent. Whatever formation you play against that lot tonight you could end up with a pasting!!

I only caught the end of the interview but he looked absolutely scunnered tonight....especially when he was asked about changing style and he retorted with we had 5 back how many do i play 7??

We didn't learn anything from that tonight that we didn't already know.

For me, we're doing really well and i would put us as a decent 3rd tier side and financially that's us punching above our weight!!

Let's not forget, Rodgers was our first manager ever to get us to the champions league in his first year in charge. And we didn't qualify for Lennon's first two seasons.

Yeah but we'd also have a class, £5million centre back.

That's not the point at all.

If we were to go with that attitude we'd be as well not strengthening the squad ever again, tbh.

agreed, but i'd be a lot more confident of doing some damage in the Europa....been a priority for a while now.

For all Brendan loves his life here and is able to enjoy fantastic success domestically, he will (after games like tonight and those gone previously) start to think he has taken us as far as he can go. Inevitably for a highly ambitious man this will ultimately signal his departure (in the shorter rather than longer term unfortunately). There is still progress to be made in this squad during his reign and that for now will keep him interested but when the best we can hope for during his tenure is to progress from 7-1 hammerings to 3 or 4 then he will see no future.

As a club we dont seem to have learned lessons from seasons gone by.

When we go into a CL campaign with Bitton as a starting center back, we are always going to be up against it. This shouldnt have happened.

As a manager, as much as i love Rodgers, i believe he is still tactically naive when it comes to playing away in europe and given the gulf in quality, we must play for a result, as opposed to trying to continue to play an expansive and attacking game. Teams badly punish us for the space afforded to them.

We cannot continue to try to play out when we are being pressed to high up he pitch. Iv lost count of the amount of times Gordon’s passing has put us under needless pressure or we have given the ball away deep in our own half.

I believe that our problems away in europe stem from the wrong tactics. Even when when we had van dijk at center back we had issues and so one new defender is not going to be the difference.

No somebody better than that. 2 Virgil Van Dijks.

Hopefully our scouting system has moved on from John Barnes watching Brazilian football highlights on ESPN anyway.

It's easy saying park the bus but I saw us park the bus against Barca under Lennon and yes it worked that one great night , we still lost the other 3 games he played against them including getting pumped 6-1 in the Nou Camp so its not as simple as that, especially when you're playing quality teams.

Lads can we all jus take a breathe we got beat off a team that is owned by a country and use it as theyre play thing they spent more on 1 player than we have in our history aye its bit embarassing aye its not ideal but see against the team.who are closer to our level we pumped them 3 0 away from home i dont care what set up or formation he sent out tonight unless we have 400 million invested in our squad which even then wouldnt gaurentee us a win i just cant get annoyed at that i would move to see celtic be more competitive against that but its modern day even since lennon beat barca football has went up another 10 levels when the likes lf kyle walker is changin clubs for 50 million and sigurdsson these players wouldnt get close to that psg team and thats 100 million in todays market its became monopoly football whoever has the most money wins
