Brendan keeps saying we'll learn from it, but we keep making the same mistakes over and over, giving the ball away, poor marking and lack of concentration at the back, i appreciate PSG are a great team, but this is yet another humiliation for us.

BR: “We conceded seven goals in Barcelona when I first came in and was very disappointed in us. In a strange way, there were a lot of good moments for us in the game.”

BR: “If you analyse the goals we gave away, they were disappointing goals from the first and second phases from corners and set-pieces. That was a disappointment for us.”

BR: “I’d be very surprised if they don’t make the final with the sheer level of quality they have in the team and the confidence that they play with.”

BR: “We’ve been working together now for 17 months so we know the level we are at. We are going to try and progress as far as we can each year.”

BR on Lustig: “We’ll see how he is over the next couple of days. No doubt it had an impact because structurally we are taking off a defender.”

BR: “What you’re watching here in Paris is the world’s best. Sometimes you just get beaten by quality and that’s what happened this evening.

BR: “We will be absolutely fine, be back out on the training field and even more determined to win on Sunday.”

His style has lead to us beating all the teams (apart from Gladbach) we're at a near financial level too. The gulf in wealth is massive against teams like PSG, significantly greater than when we were beating AC at home under Strachan. Yeah we could have sat back and kept the score line a lot tighter, but we'd have most likely still lost. Loads of us said before the game its better to go out and try and play football, and attempt to give them a game, than just sit back and defend. And even though we got stuffed, I can't be annoyed at anyone.

This is the first time I have seen you chime in on a thread with your own thoughts rather than your usual one worded replies, the usual one being 'Naw'. I'm still unsure this is your own opinion because of the length of it and more likely a copy and pasted one. My head is hurting trying to figure it out, I'm away to lay down

Great contributor of the cut and paste variety but has very little to say and mostly what he does say is irrelevant.

Is this PSG team any better than Barca in their prime that Lennon beat and we never disgraced ourself against in multiple meetings?

We’ve always competed against the top tier teams who massively outspent us and although not always coming out on top, never been obligerated like this and certainly not regularly.

7-0 against Barca last season, 13 Goals over 3 games in this campaign - including 5 at home. 5 at * paradise? That should NEVER happen, no matter who we are playing.

I feel we are dragging out “oh but the gap, it’s so big these days, all about the money you know” as if it’s something new to the last 12-18 months and justify these results.

I love BR. I want him for 10IAR + and think he will create a legacy at the club that will go on beyond his years here.

But what has to be recognised is he has * up in these games as a result of signings/tactics or whatever. He is failing to do what so-called lesser managers have maintained in the past.

We are Celtic FFS. That score line is inexcusable.

EDIT: Sorry 15, not 13 Goals over 3 games.

That performance from them in the last game at Celtic Park was THE best footballing performance I've ever seen from a team over 90mins in all my life.

As for your question, I'd say they definitely match Barca, or better them.

It’s easy to sit and wax lyrical about him when we’re brushing everything away so let me be the first to say it when he’s supposedly not learning from his mistakes...

I * love him, I love his direction for my Club and I hope he’s here for a decade or more. Forget taking a spanking in the Champions League that we wouldn’t be in without him. This guy is putting the building blocks in place for a dynasty at Celtic of quality football, player development and ultimately success.

He is a genius. He doesn’t need told to learn lessons, the guy is operating as an elite football manager in World terms. He knows exactly what he’s doing.

He got his tactics wrong, getting hammered trying to play the right way for me just isnt good enough in my opinion. Changing tactics and sitting back trying to play the way we did under Lennon and Strachen agaisnt better teams isnt a crime, we can still revert to our normal selves agaisnt teams that are of similar finances to us. We are not learning and getting tanned 7-1 isnt good enough even agaisnt this great team.

Rodgers is the best thing to happen to us for a long time and * always have my support, but theres only so many times you can get destroyed before u start to wonder why the * we didnt play another system

This PSG team would pump the Barca team we beat.

Don't even think it'd be close.

Quite simply there's a tier of teams emerging that we have to abandon the philosophy against completely. He's fooling himself if he thinks we learned anything beneficial from that.

European football under BR was always going to be a rollercoaster.. he needs to sign defenders that can play the way he wants to play the game. And a GK for that matter...

Bitton looked like our best CB out those three tonight which tells its own story I feel.. I think he's learning who's good enough and who's not. And at CB he has yet to make an addition, which is my only criticism this should have been done in the summer..

A run in the EL will soften the blow of being outplayed by a side that we simply can't compete with, no matter what players or tactics we utilise..

There's lots of talent in the midfield and attacking areas.. and we have KT and Lustig as quality fullbacks. But what we have is a central defence and GK that are fine domestically but at European level big questions remain..

Arguably Boyata, Simunovic and Sviatchenko aren't at the standard we need that will take us to the next level..
