We can play 3-4-2-1 in the early stages of our CL Qualifiers, with three RBs on our books can't see this being a priority position. A quality LW would send out a message of intent but with the wingers we have at the club already I can't see this happening.

Would be happy with a quality CB in Jan and a GK and LW/RW in the summer preferably Paddy on a permanent.

I think if we were going to get a new GK then De Vries wouldn't have signed that extension.

It’s the way it is. We have to prepare for that in the next window to ensure we’re covered. Gamboa and Lustig are right-sided defensive players so that’s a key area for us because we don’t want to be left short. Tony Ralston can cover but it’s an area we need to consider. We have been short in certain areas over the last two summers, so January is a big window for us if we feel we need to do something.

BR: "The squad is looking strong. We have brought a squad of 20. There will be some players who haven’t travelled and young Anthony Ralston is the only member missing from our squad."

BR: "We certainly hope we can get a better performance and result (than PSG at home) We have taken encouragement as these games have gone on. Our away performance in @rscanderlecht was very good and our last performance against @FCBayernEN was excellent."

BR: "For us, it’s about taking pride in the performance really and that’s something we hope we can achieve here tomorrow evening. The players are relaxed but very focused."

BR: “We are playing against a team who are arguably the best of the best, which is a huge challenge for every team who they come across, not just ourselves, and you saw that with @FCBayernEN, coming here and losing."

BR: "It’s a tough ask but, for me, there is always optimism in the games as there is always so much you can take from them and, for us, it’s about having that personality and pride in how we play."

BR: "You only need to look at the results of @PSG_English and how well they beat teams. For us, we will want to put up a better show in terms of performance and scoreline. That’s key for us and hopefully we can do that."

BR on tweaking principles during #UCL games: “We always do. We have a group of players who are adaptable in their game, with the flexibility and the systems we play, and how we can build our game."

BR on @MDembele_10 having extra incentive coming back to @PSG_English: "For the boys who are returning back to France and Paris, then of course there is a big motivation."

BR: "Moussa left Paris when he was 15 and went to Fulham, where he progressed really well for those years in that formative stage of his young professional career."

BR: "He made the step out of Fulham to come to ourselves and it was always going to be a step for him. I believe he has talent and the quality to go right to the very top."

BR: "He has the footballing qualities but also that self-belief. In my coaching life and managerial career, I have worked with top talents, especially at that end of the field, and I think he is on course to be one of the best strikers as he has all those attributes."

BR: "He is still very young and he has shown it for Celtic and France U21s and I’m sure Didier Deschamps and his staff will be looking at the next step for him, which I believe will be into the full national team. He’s a big talent and developing very well."

BRENDAN Rodgers believes Moussa Dembele will have extra incentive to impress when he takes on former employers Paris Saint-Germain for the first time as a Celtic player in Wednesday night’s UEFA Champions League clash.

The 21-year-old, who grew up on the outskirts of the French capital, spent most of his youth career with PSG before leaving to join English side Fulham at the age of 15.

Since checking into Paradise last summer, the striker has proved a huge hit in the Hoops, his goals helping fire the Bhoys to an unprecedented invincible treble in his first season at the club. He has also found the net regularly for France Under-21s, cementing his status as one of the brightest talents in European football.

Speaking to the media at the Parc des Princes, the manager said: “For the boys who are returning back to France and Paris, then, of course, there is a big motivation.

“Moussa left Paris when he was 15 and went to Fulham where he progressed really well for those years in that formative stage of his young professional career.

“He made the step out of Fulham to come to ourselves and it was always going to be a step up for him. I believe he has talent and the quality to go right to the very top. He has the footballing qualities but also that self-belief.

“In my coaching life and managerial career, I have worked with top talents, especially at that end of the field, and I think he is on course to be up there as one of the best strikers as he has all those attributes.

“He is still very young but he has shown it for Celtic and for the French U21s and I’m sure Didier Deschamps and his staff will be looking at the next step for him, which I believe will be into the full national team. He’s a big talent and developing very well.”

The Scottish champions were on the end of a heavy defeat when they faced the big-spending Parisians in the opening match of Group B at Celtic Park.

But the Hoops responded positively to that setback with several excellent performances, beating Anderlecht 3-0 in Belgium and pushing Bayern Munich all the way in an epic contest under the lights in Paradise.

And pointing to these encouraging displays, Brendan Rodgers is hopeful his players can maintain this progress against Unai Emery’s side and make it a closer contest this time around.

“We certainly hope we can get a better performance and result,” he said. “We have taken encouragement as these games have gone. Our away performance in Anderlecht was very good and our last performance against Bayern Munich was excellent.

"For us, it’s about taking pride in the performance really and that’s something we hope we can achieve here tomorrow evening. The players are relaxed but very focused.

“We are playing against a team who are arguably the best of the best, which is a huge challenge for every team who they come across, not just ourselves, and you saw that with Bayern Munich, coming here and losing.

"It’s a tough ask but for me there is always optimism in the games as there is always so much intent you can take from them and, for us, it’s about having that personality and pride in how we play. Even if you lose a game at this level, like the Bayern Munich game, if you can take something from it, then it’s important steps at this level.

“You only need to look at the results of Paris Saint- Germain and how well they beat teams. For us, we will want to put up a better show in terms of performance and scorline. That’s key for us and hopefully we can do that.”

In terms of team news, the manager revealed that defender Anthony Ralston is the only player from the squad who remains on the sidelines.

“The squad is looking strong," he said. "We have brought a squad of 20 and there will be some players who haven’t travelled. Young Anthony Ralston is the only member missing from our squad.”

BRENDAN Rodgers reckons Celtic’s rich history and sporting tradition is something which all of Qatar Sports Investments’ money can’t buy.

Paris St Germain’s mega-rich owners have lavished the best part of £800m in transfer fees alone since taking charge of the French side some six years ago, around half of which have come this close season on players such as Neymar and Kylian Mbappe.

It has made the Parisians, formed only in 1970, one of the most feared squads on planet football but as he prepares to lead the Scottish Champions into tonight’s Group B encounter at the Parc des Princes, the Northern Irishman admitted that the cash sums invested in the team make a mockery of Uefa’s Financial Fair Play regulations and said he felt the respect of the global sporting audience is something which takes rather longer than that to earn.

“It takes time,” said the Northern Irishman. “PSG are trying to create a history here and that takes numbers of years. The warmth towards Barcelona has probably come about in the last decade but you could go back to [Johan] Cruyff and the era where he was there, and Rinus Michels before that, they were creating something. That is history, so it takes time, like Manchester City in the English Premier League. You can’t buy history, it takes winning trophies and winning titles.

“You look at PSG and I think everyone will agree it -Neymar, Edinson Cavani and Mbappe] is arguably the most exciting front three in world football," he added. "But to back that up you have to win trophies and sustain that success over many games.

"Then you get the kids and people supporting you, because that is what naturally happens in any sport. The Los Angeles Lakers were popular because they were winning. Liverpool had a big support all over the world, because they won five European Cups. PSG will be supported when they win and win comfortably. Barcelona there is an affection for them because they have been winners.

“Do Celtic have that? Yes, absolutely. And you can’t buy that. But we have to do that in our world. We will never be able to do this here. That is why people will think it is wrong in football. t is modern football But Celtic have something a lot of clubs don’t have – a rich history, a support and a fanbase a lot of clubs don’t have. If you are talking big, iconic clubs, for me a big club has history, support, fan base and all that. Celtic has all that but we don’t have anywhere near the finances of a club like Paris St Germain.”

Obviously learned nothing from the humping at parkhead. Needs to bring someone in who can help him organise a defence.

Said it before and I’ll say it again- at what point does Brendan Rodgers take the blame for multiple pumpings in Europe? Should we not bother trying to defend properly?

Park the bus against teams like PSG.

7 goals shipped in the CL in 2 seasons in a row.

Probably 1st & last Team to do that

Not exempt from criticism this time, IMO. There needs to be a balance and at the minute we are setting up all wrong against these sides, away from home at least.

He needs to * learn that sometimes you just have to be a bit more defensive in Europe.

Some absolute * embarrassments in Europe under him so far.

4 times in our history we conceded 7 goals. 2 of those times under the current manager. He needs to take the blame for this shambles
