Really? I think infront of goal he’s always been very composed, with a couple of howlers thrown in.

Definitely came on leaps and bounds though, just infront of goal I think he’s always had that knack, even when he was on loan down south as a young boy.

At this very moment, he's the best no. 10 we have at the club.

I thought he was quiet, but did well for goal although Forrest truthfully put it on a plate.

Him and Sinclair were I thought under par.

He's certainly doing a good job at the mo.

He definitely was not quiet or sub-par, can’t believe that’s been labelled at him.

He stood up against a midfield 3 that cost Bayern over 120 million euros and didn’t look out of place in the slightest.

    I thought he was fantastic.

Yeah, even the goal aside I can’t see how anyone thought he was quiet.

Thought his tracking back was excellent. Always in their midfields faces and linked up well. Nowhere near quiet.

His work rate is fantastic, he has come on leaps and bounds and I'm so glad we never sold him a few years back.

Looking forward to him being at the club for a long time.

He does the simple things really really well. Pass and move, pass and move. Always on his toes. He must be an absolute joy for full backs and CB's, always showing for the ball.

Maybe it’s the howlers that are sticking in my mind, I can remember posting a couple of times in match threads ages ago somethng like “would want that chance to fall to anyone but him”

Aye? I always want it to fall to somebody like him and then when he * it up I’m outraged, like, he’d usually * buried that.

Anybody who thought he was "quiet" or "sub-par" last night truly don't understand football or how it is played. The boy was exceptional last night imo - capped off a great performance with a goal.

Players like him , KT and Shooders show that we can produce young players. I think it helps having players who genuinely support the club. Players coming here from other countries can grow to love the club but i always think the local lads add something to the character of the team

Oh, and it saves us a few bob too

Beautiful Sunday - the IRA version
I hate speaking too soon but he's won me over.

Not simply because of last night, but his performances over the past year or so have given lots of cause for appreciating him as more than simply a useful squad player.

It's now at the stage where his name is in the team-sheet and I'm not disappointed but expectant.

CALLUM McGregor believes Celtic’s performance against Bayern Munich in the UEFA Champions League showed that the Hoops are capable of challenging Europe’s elite and singled out his team-mate, James Forrest for his instrumental role in the game.

Celtic took the game to the German champions with a valiant performance full of aggression and composure, but Bayern managed to * a 2-1 win at Paradise to guarantee their place in the knock-out stages of the competition.

A defensive lapse midway through the first-half gifted Kingsley Coman a golden opportunity which the Frenchman dutifully converted to open the scoring.

The Hoops were undeterred by the goal and continued to attack the visitors. They finally clinched a well-deserved equaliser in the second half thanks to Callum McGregor.

Javi Martínez headed in minutes later though to restore Bayern’s lead and Jupp Heynckes’ side held out to take all three points.

Speaking immediately after the game, McGregor was visibly disappointed not to have got more from the game. However the 24-year-old said the performance illustrated a vast improvement in the team.

“We’re getting better with each game we’re playing in terms of the practical idea of what we’re trying to do and the way we want to play games,” he said. “I think you’ve seen tonight that we can go toe-to-toe and really mix it with the big boys.

“You want to test yourself against the best players. Being a footballer means this is where you want to play. You want to play your football at this level and learn as much as you can so you can get that experience.

"When you compare tonight to the two games against PSG at home and Bayern away, it seems like a stepping stone in the right direction.

“I think the level of performance from us shows everyone that if we set ourselves up well and play with composure then we are capable of getting results.”

The scorer also singled out Forrest for high praise after the winger tormented the German defence all night and set up the goal for McGregor with a wonderful assist.

“James was excellent,” said McGregor. “He was asked to play in that full-back role and he was up and down the pitch all night.

“I’m delighted for him, what a shift he put in and it was a great ball for the goal. He’s got that quality, you see it all the time from him.

"He’s come through the Celtic Academy and gone on to play 250 times for Celtic which is an incredible achievement. If you’ve played 250 games for Celtic, then you’re doing well. It’s guys like James that I look up to.”

Perfect midfielder for our style of play under Brendan. Should be one of the first names on the team sheet unless his form drops.

Hopefully his emergence as a major player can get Rogic to knuckle down and get back to form. Nothing like healthy competition to drive players on.

Great inspiration for any Celtic youth player ages under 8-18, to see Cal Mac, KT and JF cement a first team position in European and domestic competition.
Most young players struggle to get first team opportunities, not here!!
