Done very well tonight. He can be incredibly proud of himself. I don’t think he could have done much with the goal either really.

Stood up and made himself counted tonight, earned respect from me.

Should have done better at their second goal - especially for a * of his size, but hey ho.

    Credit where credit's Jew.

Thing he guarantees us is composure on the ball which is crucial at that level.

Also had a bit of bite and desire about him. He is quietly becoming an important member of the squad. Bit unnoticed.

The players all seem to get on with him and Rodgers appears to trust him.

So far this season he has had more good games in defence than bad.
One or two really bad performances mind guy, but tonight was certainly one of the better ones.

Really making himself a worthwhile member of the team now, but all defenders fully fit and he will be out the team.

Thought he was fantastic tonight. Loved it second half when he was charging in their half pressing their defender and made a fantastic block.

Fair play to him he comes across as been very laid back but tonight he showed he has a lot of dig. Has to show that more often especially when playing in defence.

Played well. He was pressing high up the pitch at times. Fantastic attitude.

For his height he’s as weak in the air as Henrik was strong. Still done reasonable well in his new roll

See when he ran the length of the pitch and tackled the right back? I went bonkers. Can hold his head up high anyway.

Thought his poor defending ruined it imo.

Imagine not even jumping for a crossed ball.

He couldn’t jump properly because Martinez was behind him and jumped over him. The fact he cut the back of his head open shows that he tried to jump anyway but couldn’t.

I actually think it was a cracking header to be fair. Even Simunovic would have struggled I’d say.

He was good tonight. Happy for him because people have the fear about him playing there in Europe. Did fine.

    Best CB tonight.

This 'never a cb' patter seems a cop out for people when he deserves praise.

Guy was immense tonight. Had no chance against Javi Martinez from a standing start.

    Hm I'm not sure.

Martinez got up really early and pinned him, like Larsson said. I'd point to Lustig. Got to make more of an effort to stop that coming in.

There were 4 players standing ball watching on that right side of the box.

He had no chance with the header. Martinez is a big lad and had a running start.
