Says more about Danny for me. Gentleman.

If Brendan had tried to boot him out there'd have been uproar :56:

BR: "It was frustrating game for us. The attitude in the game was very good and a lot of good possession in a lot of areas."

BR: "The players gave absolutely everything and we just lacked that final quality and final pass in the final third."

BR: “We got the goal which was a good goal. In these types of games, you have to try and get the next one to get some sort of comfort."

BR: “We had plenty of chances and opportunities but we couldn’t quite do it and we got punished in the second half."

BR: "It’s frustrating but I thought the players gave absolutely everything. It just wasn’t to be.

BR on @patrick7roberts injury: "It looks like a hamstring so we will get a scan on that."

BR: "It was frustrating for him as I thought he started the game very well in those one-v-ones.

BR: "I would suggest he will probably be out for a few weeks."

BR on #CelticFC equalling their 100-year unbeaten record: "The players deserve all the credit they get for it."

BR: "To achieve that with 62 games, and to have won 56 of them and drawn six is an absolutely incredible achievement by the players,"

BR: "It’s a great testament to their work over the last 17 months and they get a chance next week to go out on their own to get to 63."

BR: "And whatever happens here, their names go into the record books.”

BRENDAN Rodgers hailed his players after they equalled the 100-year unbeaten record set by Willie Maley’s Celtic side in today’s 1-1 draw with Kilmarnock.

Despite being held by the Rugby Park side, the Hoops extended their unbeaten domestic run to 62 matches to match the incredible milestone, which is also a Scottish and British record.

Speaking after the game, the manager said: “The players deserve all the credit they get for it. To achieve that over the course of 62 games and to have won 56 of them and drawn six is an absolutely incredible achievement by the players, and it’s so difficult that it has been 100 years.

“It’s a great testament to their work over the last 17 months and they get a chance next week in the league to go out on their own to get to 63. They deserve everything, all the credit for their hard work, and whatever happens here, their names go into the record books.”

Leigh Griffiths has put the Scottish treble-winners in charge after they had completely controlled the first half but Jordan Jones levelled for the visitors on the hour-mark, and the Bhoys were unable to fashion a winner in the closing stages.

“It was a frustrating game for us,” said the Hoops boss. “The attitude in the game was very good and we a lot of good possession in a lot of areas. The players gave absolutely everything but we just lacked that final quality and final pass in the final third.

“We got the goal, which was a good goal, in the first half. In these types of games, you always have to try and get the next one to get some sort of comfort in the game.

“We had plenty of chances and opportunities but we couldn’t quite do it and we got punished in the second half. It’s frustrating but I thought the players gave absolutely everything. It just wasn’t to be.”

Patrick Roberts came off after 30 minutes for the hosts clutching his hamstring, and the manager revealed the winger could be facing several weeks on the sidelines.

“It looks like a hamstring so we will get a scan on that,” he said. “It was frustrating for him as I thought he started the game very well in those one-v-ones. I would suggest he would probably be out for a few weeks.”

    Rodgers the pioneer.

Obviously jobs in the English premiership (and now championship) are almost impossible for British coaches/managers in regards of appointments now.

Alternatively the SPL gives British coaches a certain of coverage (certainly more than League 1) and opportunity, to showcase their abilities. And with less money sloshing about, it could be argued it also takes a greater skill, understanding and work ethic to develop a successful team/squad.

Since BR's appointment we've seen Lennon, Coyle and now Clarke return to the SPL. Hoping to succeed and possibly catch the eye of more affluent clubs down south.

Domestically things could get significantly tougher over the next few months.
