He's only 21 and hopefully with more games he will be a bit more consistent, there is definitely a player there

Thought he was pish vs Rosenberg then came good. Needs to become consistent. Has the tools but leaves the bag at home some games

His consistency was highlighted as a problem at Genoa.

It will come. Still think he is being played too deep.

At present NOT worth the money we paid. We shall give him time but he needs to step up. Seems to want 30 seconds on the ball every-time. Needs to move it quicker. Lets see what the future brings

Seems to be getting a lot of stick after the last 2 games, Hartson was tearing into him after the Anderlecht game for the first half, watching it back he wasn’t that bad, wasn’t the only struggling first half with basic passes.

Today showed he has a lot to learn to be a sitting mid, also looked off the pace though so definitely struggling after Wednesday.

He's a young guy who's game can only get better working under Brendan.

Needs to be more aggressive, seems to be far too passive in games

His pass on Wednesday for Griffiths goal is the reason why we paid the money we did for him. A young prospect who is probably still settling in as well. 4.5 million doesn't mean instant results it's an investment and one which will come very good because, as demonstrated at times this season, he has the potential to become a top class midfielder with excellent passing ability.

The same goes for Edouard in terms of settling in. Young guy who as far as I'm led to believe doesn't speak any English at all.

He wasn’t bought to play simple passes but the sarcy tone in your post aside, my point is he’s very little experience particularly of a team that has to win every game and compete at the top level in Europe.

He’s learning on the job, I think he’s shown enough to prove he CAN make simple passes so the issue clearly isn’t ability or technique.

He was worth the money as soon as he scored in Astana.

And more... Some amount of loonies on this forum. The guy has shown enough already to suggest he will develop and eventually go for big money.

Exactly this before the anderlecht game I was arguing with family that he is a player who will come good astana and the partick goal being my argument that their is quality first twenty was making me look daft the the passes came that prove he has the ability

He's barely in the door for * sake.

Away and support a premier league team where it's acceptable to judge someone after 5 minutes.

His confidence seems to have taken a bit of a hit since the PSG game and as a result he's forcing things now. He needs to settle back down and keep things simple for a while until he finds his rhythm again.

To be honest, I'm more worried about his (lack of) positional sense than his passing. A few times yesterday he was caught completely wrong side of the ball, which can't happen when you're the deepest midfielder.

I still think we have a class act on our hands. Yes he has been guilty of many slack passes in the last few games, lets not forget the class passes too. That one to set Tierney free down the flank against anderlecht was right out of the top shelf. Sometimes you have to take risks to force opportunities.

With a bit more experience and game time I think he will prove all doubters wrong and be one of our better players.

And even if for some reason he doesn’t improve (like i think we all hope and expect him too) he is still a far better option than Bitton. Progres is progres

I really want to see him behind the striker. He's been brought in as a deep lying playmaker I think but his rashness in the tackle worries me a bit, that streak is a lot harder to deal with than a few slack passes. It's a bit weird as he's an athletic guy who should be able to operate defensively without diving in.

There definitely a good player in there, we just need to give him time to find his role in the existing team.
