I agree it would be great for the area, it could look amazing and be a very good facility.

    My concerns are...
    a) Initial cost - if we fund it ourselves it's a huge % of our overall revenue and very likely we'd be borrowing.
That means less money for players.
    b) Can we run it at a good enough profit to generate enough income for it to pay for itself in a reasonable amount of time?

However, if Celtic can find the funds from everywhere other than Celtic FC and we only need to provide the 'brand' and we immediately see returns.
THEN it could work really well

Celtic's field of expertise is being the best football club in the world!
    Not Hotels.

None made their money from Hotels as far as I can see.

    http://www.celticfc.net/pages/corporate_boardofdirectors

Additionally they would not be paying a single penny toward the development, Celtic on the other hand would be (unless its externally funded).

Club museum is a great idea by the way

    Yip, had an amazing time.

Played fives on the roof with random guys, spent hours looking at the wallpaper picking out Celtic players, views were right at Old Trafford, had a bag of balls above you whilst you’re sleeping, mini bar has free Space Raiders and Vimto in it. Everything about the place is laid back and class. They even stuck the Celtic game on for me when I was down.

Hotel will be a match day sellout and the bar will be heaving, superstore will be jumping as well. With the Emirates Arena next door hosting events the amount of profit this will generate after its paid for will be huge. It doesn't need to be rammed every day and night, the Celtic brand sells at a premium. You can bet your last quid that this wouldn't be going ahead if it was a money pit.

Chris Trainer, 2nd largest shareholder of the PLC, is the developer behind the Radisson Red hotel in downtown Glasgow.

    http://www.forrestgroup.co.uk/2015/06/16/finnieston-quay-glasgow-2/

Since he isn't on the board, it wouldn't be a conflict of interest for Celtic to have him develop this hotel as well.

Celtic could work with him or any other developer on many different financial arrangements (condominium interest, long-term lease, etc.) that would reduce the risk and financial investment for the plc. I don't see Celtic operating this hotel, nor putting up all the money for it. Certainly the museum, ticket office and superstore would be their responsibility, but that is far less than 18 million quid.

I would * love it. Me and the mates, swall on the boat, swall on the bus, swall in the barrow lands (if time) enjoy the game, pie n bov, enjoy the game/win, swall in the barrowlands (if over nighter) swall on the bus, swall on the boat, home, die.
Me and my 2 girls ones 7 and ones 29 weeks lol. Fly into Glasgow early, hack to the Celtic hotel, few craft beers, nice lunch, sit outside or on a balcony enjoying the atmosphere building up, show the girls the sea of green walking up the Celtic way, 2:45 one minute walk to paradise, in early for 'you'll never walk alone' enjoy the game, pie n bov, enjoy the game/win, back at hotel 3 minutes after game finishes, few craft beers sitting outside or on the balcony watching all the happy bhoys ghirls heading home, go inside for a big steak dinner followed by a few craft beer and a good oul sing song surrounded by Celtic memorabilia. Up to the room talk about the day as they fall asleep and I have another craft beer while watching Celtic tv, up next morning big breakfast without leaving my room, taxi, flight home, refreshed.
Love doing it the boys way but when I'm with ma girls, that's the way I want to do it.

This would be great for disabled supporters like me. And I would love to be able to come up to CP at least once more & show the Mrs what it's all about. She's pretty well versed in the Celtic songbook so it'd be fantastic.

We've one of the most risk averse boards in football.

If there was even a 1% chance of this being a disaster we wouldn't go near it.

even if we make 2-3 million per year from it and the museum.that could up our transfer kitty from 7 million to 10 eatch year.Or it could go to pay bigger wages in guys of the quality of Rodgers and sinclare a bit more often.

just pulling figures out my *.mind you.
