I think Fergus would be chuffed, and it'd be appropriate, if we named the inevitable main business and conference suite after him - after all, it was his business acumen that he brought to bear on the club

I have similar thoughts about my grandfather. Wish he'd been here to have seen rangers go down the pan.

Usually stay in the Premier Inn down at Pacific Quay if i'm staying over for a gig. I think i'll stay at the new hotel when it opens.

The hotel is a tricky one, you have to get it right. I would imagine there would be very strong demand around match days but I don't think that in itself would make it sustainable. Things like a bar have the potential to be pretty big earners I would imagine and go a long way to enhancing the overall supporter experience. I think you have to have a bit of faith that the board have done the sums here, and considering they've historically been pretty frugal, I can't see this going ahead without them being 100% sure it would be at least self sustainable from the beginning.

As someone that has been to Hotel Football beside Old Trafford on more than one occasion I can all but guarantee this will be a success.

If it follow that blueprint (greenprint) it can't fail. Views of the stadium, good hospitality, football orientated, craft lagers, good food at reasonable prices etc...

Best hotel I've ever been to, including 5 star efforts elsewhere.

We shouldn't do this, especially the hotel part.
It's not Celtics area of expertise and most similar football run, non-football commercial schemes fail or at best are moderately successful.
Potential money pit in my view.

    Don't be so optimistic...

Not sure why you wouldn't want this done. Improves the area around Celtic Park, adds yet another beautiful element to the club and it's locale, and provides a great service to it's fans and fans of clubs around Europe. Should also prove to be a good financial oppurtunity as well. I wouldn't be surprised if the hotel is contracted out in some way. I think it's a great step for the club and our fans.

Not our area of expertise? Do you even know of the business men on our board?

What is Celtic’s area of expertise?
