Status Quo edging out Thrice and claiming the final Quarter Final spot.

Thrice ( @Dear Hunter ) definitely made more of an impression on me as the competition went on, and of the bands had nopt previously known coming into this one hasve been listening to a bit since. Like the situation with Blur and Black Keys, the one point margin really underlines how tight this comp is and that every single vote matters.

Important Notice

Please note, now that we are at the Quarter Final stages, that the voting system changes in 2 ways.

First off, from here on in, only the Jury gets to vote.

So for those of you still in the running, your fate (including potential future opposition) is entirely out of your hands and rests entirely with the Jury.

So for this round ONLY the 9 (10, if @Drakhan gets back online) people currently on the Jury will be voting this round. For the semi final this will extend to include the 4 eliminated after this stage, and again at the Final, for the 2 knocked out at the SF point also.

Secondly, as it is now a head to head competition from this point onwards, the scoring system changes also. Those who are BotB veterans will know this already but for anyone else this is how it goes now...

For each match up, voters have 5 points to allocate as they see fit between each of the 2 songs in each match up. So, 5-0, 4-1 or 3-2.

Love one song and detest the other? 5-0 to the song you love.
Really hard to seperate, nothing much between them? 3-2.

And so on.

So now it is the highest aggregate score that will mean progression.

Whats the criteria for the song this round?

 

Sorry, should have mentioned.

From the previous round onwards there is no criteria. Whatever you think will progress you through to the next stage, so it's completely open.

The only change to that is, at the Final. The Final 2 have to present 3 songs each, but they must be from 3 seperate original albums/releases/independant singles etc.

Yeah they have some fantastic songs. Not one of my favourite bands, but I go through phases binging them.
