You are right but it's the folk that go in them that are the real issue, we've all encountered them, pretentious * usually wearing tragic brown brogues and ordering whilst on their phones something with a pishy name, last one I heard was "piccolo latte" even the burd serving him had to ask what it was!!!!!

Anyone who is into The Sopranos can relate this topic to the Paulie Walnuts rant.....

Get the fear going into trendy coffee places. Never know how to just order a coffee :giggle1:
Usually give a fake name if it's one of those places where they have to write it on the cup. * sake, what's that all about?

It's a marketing tactic. Some people get a buzz out of it. They also deliberately misspell names so people post it online and the company gets free advertising.

    Went in today.

Coffee was not bad, slightly better than Starbucks.

Got a box of those timbits, some were decent some tasted a bit funky

All for under a 5 so alright I suppose.

Shocked at the responses on here. Tims is a Canadian past time but it's hard a "hip" place. Mostly reserved for blue collar types but the food isn't bad by any means.

Interesting to hear that it seems to be attracting mostly hipsters in Glasgow. The timbits aren't * btw, so * outta here with that.

It isn't really attracting mostly hipsters though. People see one hipster in the queue and go "This is an expensive hipster establishment!".

It's a coffee shop. The customers are no different than anywhere else.

Blame it on Globalism and Multi Culturelism the world's *, it's the Elite, they want us eating doughnuts like the Americans and drinking coffee like the French until every bit of identity and culture we have is ripped out of us. And every country and city in the world is gonnae look and feel the * same. In a hundred years there won't be a Scotland and everybody on the planet will be the * same colour.

Went in to the one on Argyle Street last month after college one day, wasn't that impressed. It was a bit strange. The doughnut was alright. Nothing special.

Went in on my way to the game tonight and had a hot chocolate and a Boston cream. Both were really good even if I did manage to squish the cake a bit in my pocket.
