Comfortably through, joining The Heavy from this Group in the Quarter Final draw.

Which means that Gorillaz ( @obafgkmlt ) has been eliminated and joins the Jury. Personally, I actually quite liked the song used this round, and with the likes of Clint Eastwood and Feel Good Inc up their sleeve could have made a dent still. But the Voters have spoken and all that is needed now is a postscript...

Yeah their new album isn't good, that's the order I voted that group as well.

Jusging by the votes seems a majority agreed, but the other 2 songs were decent also, so I guess it's take what you like from the results, lol.

 

Think they're pish, in general.

 

I've never spent any time listening to them, other than their singles.

Wasn't as comfortable as Bear's Den, but still safely through to the Quarter Finals.

Unfortunately, that means that Billy Idol ( @Tim-Time 1888 ) has been knocked out. Consideirng some of the arsenal he still had up his sleeve, the likes of White Wedding, Rebel Yell, LA Woman, Hot in the City and more, could have been a real contender. But as a post script a throwback to the Gen X days...

And both of these were seperated by just a single point.

One point between still in the running and joining the Jury.

Just want to note now that I'm out how * raging I was that Bear's Den got through the live round with a Springsteen cover.

With Green Day safe, it's now between Black Keys and Blur.

Blur sqeezing through, ahead of The Black Keys, and still in the running to win this competition.

This means that the Black Keys ( @CookieMonster ) has been edged out by the most narrow of margins. A cracking band, but an extremely tough group and really whoever who missed out from this could consider themselves unfortunate. Guess Cookie will have to try again to reclaim his BotB throne. One of my favourites though...

Bunch of absolute heathens. That Black Keys song was by far the best of this round.

There were 6 songs I preferred.

 

Also I was hoping to save my favorite Gorillaz song for later. Lovely tune to close your eyes and let it sweep you away.

 

Thought I would be out this round but never knew it would be that tight. Shame since I picked Black keys on the depth of quality songs they have. These are the other 2 songs I was thinking on picking for the round.

Oh and well done Blur and Green Day, good luck in the rest of the comp!

 

The Black Keys are * marvellous.

 

That's the joys of Botb's mate, so many differing music tastes.

 

One of the best bands I've seen live, so much talent and quality songs from 2 guys.
I wanted to try and stick with their early stuff as long as I could as well, they are the kings of heavy guitar intros.
