In normal circumstances I'd agree, Roberts is a superior player to Forrest but he didn't have a proper pre-season at City and is still getting up to full match sharpness. Forrest on the other hand has 4 goals in his last 2 and is looking sharp on the ball. He won't and shouldn't be dropped.

Actaully think roberts should make appearance from bench for this, either way we have many dangerous options if things dont go our way.Forrest is the in form man though.

I dont think anyones saying forrest is the better player, but this moment in time hes banging in them in and the in form player, remember forrest kept paddy out for large part of season last year.James is definently good enough to go two to two for rw as he provin the now.

I can see the argument for starting Roberts, but you just can't drop a player whos scored 4 in his last 2 games and has been one of our best players this season. It just doesn't make sense. If Griffiths had been banging them in the last couple of games no one would suggest starting Dembele.

Ah come on it can't be that score line. Your kidding yourself on if you think it will be something similar.

You need your head looked at, like seriously, do you expect them to score!!

I do. I can see that big buffoon Alves puting one in the back of his own net when his legs have gone around the 50th minute mark. That is if he doesn't get subbed at ht due to said legs starting to wobble.
They say he's a machine, yeah and so is a lada riva. Slow as *, * turning circle and always breaking down.

Hope Alves plays so we can show him up for being the imposter he is.
The media have bigged him up to be a top player... Bollox he's no better than Clint Hill from what I've seen.

Aye, hope he plays before the greatest ever player in the history of the entire whole wide existing world - Ross McCrorie...

Alves is literally unbeatable in the air, but on the deck he is like David Murray on a tightrope.

I've not seen anything to suggest Alves is unbeatable in the air, most of sevcos conceded goals have come from crossed balls.
And * playing against wold class McCrorie, he wouldn't give Griff a sniff.

I've watched their games closely this season - partly for the humour, but also for the purpose of knowing thy enemy.

He wins literally every ball I see coming into HIS area - * has some jump on him anaw, looks about 10 feet in the air.

On the deck though, he's suspect as *.

Certainly nowhere NEAR the levels of Bruno Alves of 10 years ago (even then, he was hardly what you'd call World Class).

Aye, if McCrorie is playing, then we're *...

    (Forrest/Roberts) McGregor Sinclair
    Dembele

If Jozo can start he plays. Otherwise Bitton.
I can't decide between Forrest or Roberts. Forrest in fine form but if they have to throw a kid in because the grass & Declan are injured Roberts would be clever enough to destroy him. Like he did beerman or whatever his name is last year.
Dembele because he's just that bit more physical and McGregor over Rogic as he covers more ground.

The bench we will have regardless of who starts is so strong. If by some miracle these * are still in the game around 60/65 mins the options from the bench coupled with Brendan & Chris tactical savvy is another massive weapon at our disposal. I just can't see us losing. As much as I want to destroy them, I'll still take a scrappy 1-0 win. Just beat them.

There's at least one red in this I feel. Morales would probably be short odds.

We get a few first half goals then just pull paddy and jamsie on. Stick them central with orders to just run at him.
He'll feckin implode then retire lol

Fair enough he might be decent in the air but he's not exactly stemmed the flow of goals they are shipping.
Would still fancy us to take 3/4 off them with him in the team.

I think Rodgers' tactics on Saturday will be determined by how he aims to soak up as much pressure from them early on (as they will attempt to fly out of the traps as per).

Best to look at their probable team early on:

    Windass Morelos Candeias

    Jack Pena Dorrans

    Hodson Alves Cardoso Tavernier

    Foderingham

    Starting from the back:

Hodson - solid enough defender. I'd be putting Forrest on him early on to try and beat him as much as possible, whilst gaining the yards and getting fouls.

Alves/Cardoso - both physical enough. Will be extremely hard to win anything in the air (especially if we play with 1 up top) - although both flappers on the deck, especially Alves

Tavernier - will do his usual marauding up the park (dangerous up forward), but terrible defender - I expect Sinky to terrorize him

Jack/Pena/Dorrans - will try and take the midfield battle with Jack probably man marking either Rogic/Armstrong/McGregor. Pena - will be honest, I haven't a * clue what his role/style is, just looks like one of these payers who runs around doing his own thing. Dorrans will be the one to get further forward - expect a decent battle between him and Broony.

Windass/Candeias - both extremely quick off the mark and decent bit of skill - the full backs (hopefully Lustig and Tierney) will have to be tactically and physically on the ball, especially early on. That Candeias looks their best player this season, excellent deliveries, and looks as if he can make something happen.

Morelos - looks to be a goal threat. Is a mixture between Kris Boyd (decent goalscorer, but offers * all else in terms of team effort) and Nacho Pricko (horrible wee mutant hun fuckpig who will snarl and kick at anything, then throw his wee toy donkey oot the pram when things don't go his way. Hopefully our defence winds the wee ugly fat * up enough to draw him into making enough fouls...

I don't think this game will be anything as easy as the ones that have taken place last season, but if we play our game the way we do, we're still far too strong for them.

That is unless Ross McCrorie (the best centre back in history......EVER!) plays, then we're *.

    For us I'd go for

    Gordon
Lustig - Boyata - Jozo (if fit) - KT
    Broony
    Ntcham - Rogic
    Forrest - Dembele/Griff - Sinclair
Can't decide between Dembele and Griff tbh, be inclined to go for Dembele after his strong return from injury against Ross County but Griff has been playing well, Dundee aside. Midfield wise its hard to leave out McGregor but he has been so effective off the bench recently, I'd bring him on about 60 mins and have him run riot. Rest of the team picks its self IMO.

    Bench: DDV - Ralston - Bitton - McGregor - Roberts - Edouard - Hayes
