Yeah I agree. I have taken to Ralston big time, we need more fighters in the team.Let's do Anderlecht ( Twice ) and then do Rangers, and then see what happens with Bayern. Plenty to look forward too. I have forgot about this * PSG result already, in fact it didn't even register.

 

His attacking from set pieces really gives us a different dimension. Could be crucial in Europe as well.

 

Some game time next Wed if he's not good to start on Sat.

 

BRENDAN Rodgers last night admitted that he would like to tie up Dedryck Boyata on a new long-term contract after Scott Brown, Callum McGregor and Jozo Simunovic all pledged their futures to Celtic.

McGregor, the 24-year-old midfielder, became the third player in four days to agree to an extension yesterday when he signed a deal which ties him to the Parkhead club until 2021.

Rodgers, who secured the signatures of club captain Brown and centre half Simunovic on Monday, is keen to retain the services of more key members of his squad and revealed that defender Boyata is one he would be targeting.

“The club has been working behind the scenes and that’s great,” he said. “Callum has been a brilliant young player for us and I’m really happy for him. He loves being at Celtic and he’s made a real contribution in the last 12 months.”

Asked who else he wanted to keep at Celtic, Rodgers said: “Dedryck has a year or so to go and there are one or two others. It’s nice that so many players see this as a place they can develop and be successful. It’s nice to have them all on board for the journey.”

 

Good stuff. If we get Boyata tied up then there's only really Rogic, Forrest and Ralston to go.

Then we're back to Armstrong.

 

I'd let his contract run out and bring in better. Wouldn't be too difficult.

 

Yeh that makes sense don't get him on a longer contract and lose him for nothing

Rogic signed a 3-year deal last year. Hopefully we extend it beyond 2019 though.

 

Aye all those are 2019. Would be good to get them all signed up to longer term deals before Jan.

 

Apparently Boyata only played 17 games for us last season, feels like it was way more than that. Fingers crossed he comes back playing how he did last season and not how he did under ronny

 

Ralston shouldn't be an issue to get signed up. Remains to be seen if Brendan would want Forrest signed up for longer, I think he'll be looking to upgrade.

 

Do you support Celtic?

 

Just having a proper CB back in the side is most welcome, whether Boyata can perform at European level is debatable. Big season for him.

Cant wait until he rockets a header past psg in the final minute to make it 2-1 putting us into 2nd and psg down to 3rd, just as ralston runs up to neymar holding 3 fingers up. The V's and a middle finger. Boom.

Brendan is 2 game's away from a pumping. Wants first team player's to be released for nothing and is generally negative beyond belief in here to the point you can almost tell he's enjoyed the last few day's..

Wouldn't even mind about negative *'s as we've got plenty but when you see how positive he is in the Scotland thread's and the pish he rate's and selects, it's mind boggling..

 

Be huge for him having Kolo there all the time now

 

Should wait and see how this season plays out first.

Love Brendan but he's putting a ton of faith in guys like Boyata and Bitton when really, they haven't looked all that impressive. Boyata looked much better last season but I still think we need a much better CB in the mix. To stick with Boyata would mean stagnation in my opinion. Should be looking for better.
