Why'd he run on the pitch to try and attack an 18 year old? Was it just completely unprovoked?

 

How did he get to near halfway line from more than 10 metres away from the corner flag / goal end of the pitch?

They do take pitch invasions like the one last night much more seriously than 'offensive' banners and flares.

I think any sort of stadium closure would be ridiculously OTT,but we can't really complain about a fine due to this coked up ned letting us down.

 

Why isn't it?? 11 times in 6 years we've been charged by UEFA. Sooner or later they'll make an example of us

 

11th punishment in 6 years. UEFA will come down hard on this

 

They are not shutting a stadium for a lone supporter running on the pitch.

 

Not just the supporter running onto the pitch is it. Like I said it's the amount of charges over the last 6 years

 

We could have another 20 minor offences and we aren't getting a stadium closure. It's just not going to happen.

 

This gets said a lot.

But is there actually anything in Uefa's rules which states previous "misbehaviour" will be taken into account when making these judgements?

 

I'm actually sick of saying that uefa offences are taken on their merit and nothing else that's happened before matters.

But this one is more serious than our usual * of banners and songs

 

I think a stadium ban is never gonna happen for a single supporter, but a stand closure is a distinct possibility. Losing a section for the Bayern match would have huge financial implications, and also set an example for other clubs fans.

Let's not forget, this isn't some * '* uefa' stroppy offence here. Some dipshit attempted to assault a young fella, in his workplace, for nothing more than doing his job. In any other line of work if some bampot walked into someones workplace and went for them we'd say * everything you've got at them...

The problem is if a stand closure becomes the precedent over one supporter behaving like that then you'd have idiots from rival clubs more than happy to take the punishment for the financial and disruptive implications it would cause to the club they hate.

So yeah, I'd be amazed if a stand closure over a single fans behaviour ever becomes a standard punishment in these situations.

 

Feyenoord reduced their capacity by half themselves against Man Utd. last season after Uefa threatened them to play their next European match behind closed doors.

 

Apparently Besiktas have banned fans travelling to the CL away games coz there one incident away from a stadium closure, surely we can't be far behind

 

Hope that little * gets maximum punishment for it
