Just what did Brown do tonight ? He did,not lift a leg in my opinion, no leadership , no fighting spirit not a single positive to be taken from him this evening

What a block for that shot on goal! Didn't see it on until the replay as thought it wasn't on target. On the replay is obviously came of Ralstons face (brave) but what impressed me was the fact he had deliberately folded his hands/arms behind his back at the same time - never seen that before!!! Is that normal or something coming through from the Celtic youth?

Recovered well after their first goal. Would love to see the lad kick on from this and start the next couple of matches.

If we pressed them we'd have got skelped even worse. Did you no see the speed of their passing, i we left bigger holes we'd have got absolutley destroyed.

For me they are the best team we've ever played.

Broony was arguably our best player tonight..

As for Ralston. I'm still to be completely convinced but certainly domestically, he needs to be given a straight run and be persevered with now. See where he goes..

I didn't mind him laughing at Neymar. The guy was trying to rip the * out of him all night, giggling and that poofy wee grin and hand's over his mouth talking pish. It was a show of defiance like what, your quality but an absolute *..

His courage absolutely oozed out under extreme pressure. We can say what we want about how he got roasted but how many 18 year olds would've stuck at it with Neymar?

That's about as hard as he'll ever have it in football in his entire career..

The mystery point(s) you fail to comprehend are mine!
He got in the way of Lustig, kicking at thin air, ball went through his legs. To Lustig's credit he gave him a stare and then probably thought what is the point blaming the kid.

Yes, Ajer is a better option imo, a better quality player in potential and the now, and that is not saying too much for options. And Bitton likely no worse.

Passion! we lost 5-0 not 1-0 and it could have been 8 and more!

Passion only goes so far in life and play.
Burst into the box! that is stretching reality to put it mildly, Ralston was going no where, and in real context that was at a period against a team that was many goals up by then and could have been forgiven for going to sleep aka Ralston fashion several times first half.
Did ye also see Ralston Waiving frantically behind rat boy Naymer (as if waiving arms was somehow going to put a player off, like something out of anchor man scene trying to put off the lady journalist) as the rat scored the first and then around 10 mins later Ralston ran (burst) across the midfield sideways waiving again!! Go re watch and then ask yourself is that Celtic!

Perhaps we should Sign these 2 up, ye never know it might work one day if we persist with them.
I am sure they will play with passion for several grand a week!!

Passion, be serious Ralston only showed his immaturity reacting to a * like Neymeryer rat.
Hit the * by all means but play act to the cameras because you don't have any other answer! is schoolboy in a playground like.

Can I (and a million others) get a game because of passion, great so! because I can 100% assure ye I would have spat in Neymeyers face a half second before I nutted the wee * into the stands, but alas poor passion just like Ralston I am also not Celtic 1st team soccer quality.

Look he is a kid and not to blame for tonight, but he is also not good enough for Celtic 1st team, that is the point.

Blame Lawell or who ever left us with such poor option after a transfer window.
The South African supposed Krok only highlights incompetence.

Ultimately there is no excuse for us not having signed players at the back during the transfer window, that's what it comes down too, and don,t let's kid ourselves that Brendan does,nt realise this either.
If the board are not going to spend decent money and by that I don,t mean spending for spendings sake but they have the cash and it must be reinvested in the team otherwise we are going nowhere in Europe ...that,s a fact.
And like it or not I don,t think Brendan will stick around to be the whipping boys of the champions league if he is,nt given freedom to spend, let's remember he could go back down the road tomorrow to the premiership .

People have seen my comments about ralston. Thought he was no where good enough etc.

I was wrong. Took until the second half, but thats him over the "* himself" stage. He can be proud. 18, gonna be qaulity.

It's the best footballing lesson he could ever have learned mate.

And coming up against team's like this is the best for Celtic in the long-term - we can only learn from it.

Plus, I suppose you could say it's progress from last season were we got pumped 7-0 in the first game :84:

Said in the match thread I can't remember a side as good as them at Celtic Park in term's of how potent/clinical they were and composed..

We did make it easier for them but they are top class and probably still gelling up top. How frightening is that..

Considering who he was up against I thought he had a more than respectable performance.

Aye, they have weaknesses but we are too * to do anything but their strengths are far too good. Their front 3 can all beat men for fun, Neymar and Mbappe can cross or cut in to shoot and Cavai is superb in the air.

Then their midfield contains 3 of the best passers of a ball in the game, probably 3 of the top 10 or so passers playing football.

They keep possession for fun but don't do it in a slow Barca way, they constantly probe forward and once they do their forwards turn and run and spaces open up everywhere.

Jim I get some of what your saying but where was Browns passion tonight ? Never at the game never mind the races, very very poor show from a captain tonight it looked as if his mind was elsewhere.

Aye I'm slating Brendan on one hand but as the second half showed, in the long run he's definitely got something in him to come roaring back in the future..

I wish that was the last we saw of Neymar and i * knew when he moved that we'd get Psg. *..

Would've been 7 nil if we were away :fear:
