I wouldn't risk it with Gamboa, I know we are in a much stronger position but we threw him in against Barca when he had played * all game time for us and he had a mare against Neymar.

    I would go for-
    Ralston Lustig Jozo Tierney

So Ralston would have a better game than Gamboa would?

    Gamboa - Lustig - Simunovic - Tierney

You need pace in the full back positions to combat their main strengths in neymar and mbappe.

Ralston would get spit roasted at this level, he is nowhere near ready and Lustig would get done for pace.

    * knows but Ralston is more prepared at the moment, played a lot more game time so far. Either of them are a risk really.

I like Gamboa and if he had played more I'd start him since he has more experience but it's obvious Rodgers doesn't rate him that highly.

Agreed. Most folk have a nightmare up against Neymar. I couldn't expect Ralston to even touch him, it would wreck the boys confidence! Gamboa might be pish but at least he's got pace and experience against him. If he's on his game he's unplayable. Doubling up on him is what BR will do. Probs Forrest coming back to help RB out.

Have to disagree, from what i have seen of Ralston he would struggle big time. I don't see what others see in him.

Gamboa has played two international games in the space of a week, he is match fit.

Ralston is big, strong and fast. Gamboa hasn't played a competitive game for us this season yet, he may be fit but he wont be sharp.

As I said either of them are a risk, personally I'd put Ralston in there, I imagine we'll be playing Brown Armstrong Ntcham in midfield for extra protection in the wide areas with Forrest and Sinclair helping out. So he'd get plenty help.

We'd get * shagged, Lustig has no pace and McGregor may be okay in the league as cover for left back but against Mbappe he'd get destroyed.

I get the point about McGregor - just trying to think of options that don't include Bitton - but who would you play at RB if not Lustig?

Aye true that's what everyone is hoping for, no Bitton :giggle1: as above I'd go for Ralston, or even Gamboa. Chances are we might go for a narrow 3 at the back with Forrest and Sinclair basically as wing backs. Lots of options.

I honestly don't know what defence Brendan will go with but they need to stay focused and no lapse in concentration. Gordon has to have confidence in them.

Gamboa on the right- his speed can help us. Lustig is better than a makeshift CB. Although, I would play Ajer together with Brown. Send the overpaid * in the PSG midfield tumbling.

Boyata, hes been training for a few weeks.

He could get us a goal from a corner as he seemed to be good at that & hes probably still better defensivly than our available options

No chance Ajer will play, never mind in the midfield, where we have excellent options..

I'd think we'll play 5 across the back in defence dropping to a 4 when going forward.

I'd say the 5 would be Forrest, Ralston, Lustig, Jozo and KT. With Forrest or KT pushing forward when they can but not together. Man marking aint going to work so it will come down to covering the zones and breaking when we can.

Gamboa has just played 2 games in the internationals so think he would be fine for Tuesday. Best of a bad situation.

Just please don't play * bitton

Gamboa could be good for this. His pace gives us a serious option on the counter-attack.

I'd go 3-4-3, with Lustig, Jozo and Tierney. I'd be tempted to use Hayes on the left of the 4. I know McGregor has been used there before, but Hayes is quicker and in Aberdeen's system he was used to tracking back and doing the work of a wingback.
