    What is it with the centre back chat? Ok Rodgers thinks we need it but maybe that was to do with Erik going the other way we have 3 at the club two coming back from injury and Lustig who can play the role also... unless it was an experienced centre back coming in what would have made the difference ?

    We have one left back at the club we need that more than any other role right now

    If we sign the PSG lad, we have three strikers we should be happy can play up top and score us goals, we've seen the without and it's very grim.

    We've also seen some trials with several players filling in at CB, Ajer, Bitton, Lustig and Tierney. We also have Jozo then returning in a few weeks, Eric then in October Dedryk.

    We seriously struggled with no striker but we fared much better with our CB cover, aye it's no a long term answer but neither are the injuries to our CB's.

    7 players capable of playing CB, 2 positions.

    2 strikers for 1 position.

    Just cant get enough
    The lack of a centre half in the door the whole summer has been diabolical. We where so in need of a quality centre half or at least a reliable one. I worry about our europa spot big time now. The decision making on this is the only questionable decision made by the manager in his time hereso can't complaing too much.

    Can't for the life of me understand folk who think not signing a CB is ok?!


    We're going into a CL group with PSG (Neymar Cavani Mbappe) & Bayern * Munich (Robben Lewandowski Muller), and we're potentially partnering Jozo with Ajer or Bitton at CB. Absolutely * frightening.


    Aye, we'll stroll the SPL again, but Europe will be an utter mess.

    If you think one CB is gonna change much against PSG and Bayern you're sadly mistaken.

    Either way, have a bit of faith, plus Eric will be back after the PSG game so signing a quality CB on 20+ grand for one game equates to two centre backs not playing and burning a wage for most of the season.

    There's no chance we are spending 10 million euros on this young striker either. I don't know why all our fans get hyped up about how good our accounts look. We always seem to spend round about the same every summer no matter how bad or good we were the previous season

    Has that 10 mill deffo been stuck in the term's if we choose to buy? I know we've got a clause but thought the 10 was his minimum release clause..

    Hope we get a CB in, defence was more important to strengthen that getting another striker IMO.

    Some centre halfs on a free that we could go for if we don't sign anyone before the deadline.

    Chico Flores (Worked with Rodgers at Swansea)

    Jan Kirchhoff (Ex Bayern and Sunderland. Can play either centre half or defensive mid. Good passing and comfortable on the ball. Thought he did well for a poor Sunderland side. Would definitely take him.

    Sebastian Bassong- Free agent also. Haven't him play much. Would favour Chico or Kirchhoff over him I think.
