This article really wound me up. Why is Hartson even talking about KT going anywhere? I don't care if he's saying in a year or eighteen months, just keep stump. He's going nowhere. He's one of the most important players we've had since Larsson and no talk of him transferring should be entertained. You sell him and you basically sell the identity of the club and ensure that we're just another club emblematic of modern markets.

Everything we've done over the years shows that, for our business plan, that's exactly what we are. In theory, if we ever fail to qualify for the CL, we should be immediately signing our best players to new contracts and improving the squad- because that's when it would be needed most. Instead, when we did, each time we immediately sold our best players. There's no way, with the way the club is ran, they think about identity and on-field before profits.

There's definitely more than measure of truth in this, but I would view selling Tierney as on a whole new level of corruption within the power structure of the club.

No need to sell anyone, at all.

As it stands, we arguably could just let demebel, et al contract run down.

Only way we sell anyone is because the offer is that good - £30m demebele - or someone fires in a transfer requests and wants to leave.

We offer a lot to players, specially younger ones to develop, get the winning mentality, win medals, earn a decent wage and perform in the champions league. Our coaching staff and facilities are up there with the best in Britain - Europe aside from the likes of Barcelona - that means being here for a few years is worth their while.

One look at virgil and wanyama and not only do teams south realise the talent is here, but the talent will realise it may actually be equally is beneficial to stay a year longer now, develop more with CL football and then skip the Southampton of the World and go straight to Liverpool etc.

KT: “It’s a hard draw but you’re going to get that in the Champions League and we’re looking forward to it.”

KT: “We did well in the qualifiers to get here, so we’ll go in there confident, we’ll work hard on the training ground and do our best."

KT: “Last season was the first taste of #UCL for a lot of us and it’ll be good experience going into this season."

KT: “We know we’ll be up against top class players but we won’t go in nervous or with any fear.”

KIERAN Tierney says Celtic will play with no fear when they come up against PSG and Bayern Munich in the UEFA Champions League group stages.

Celtic were drawn in Group B of the competition where they will meet German Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich, French Ligue 1 champions PSG and Belgian champions Anderlecht.

Speaking immediately following the draw Tierney insisted the Hoops would stand tall when they came up against the world’s most expensive player Neymar Jr, who recently joined the big-spending French side.

“You just need to do your normal job and defend as best you can,” said Tierney. “We know we’ll be coming up against top class players but we won’t go in nervous or with any fear.

“Every European game is a big pressure game. You want to get into the Champions League and the qualifying games are pressure games, but we dealt with that and now we’re here.

"The high-pressure games we play in like semi-finals and cup finals give us great experience for moments like this.”

The 20-year-old said last year’s group has given him and his team-mates valuable experience which they can use to their advantage in the upcoming games.

“You saw what happened last year in the group we had. Man City come into tournaments like this wanting to win and we drew with them twice, so it gives us confidence. Last year was the first taste of Champions League football for a lot of us and it’s good experience going into this season.

“We’re always confident, and why not - we’re here for a reason. We’ve done well in the qualifiers to get here so we’ll go in there confident, we’ll work hard on the training ground and do our best.”

Looking at the teams Celtic will face in the Champions League, Tierney added: “It’s a hard draw but you’re going to get that in the Champions League and we’re looking forward to it.”

He missed a trick there after being asked about Neymar. He should of said 'That's Mika's problem, he plays on his side' :giggle1:

Can't imagine him leaving. He is living the dream here. Unfortunately I can see Lawwell and co been tempted at selling as soon as they get a good offer. As long as we keep qualifying for the champions league we shouldn't let him go (unless he was wanting to leave, which I really hope he won't, not anytime soon anyway)

Would rather sell others in our team for a big bid before Tierney. Players such as Dembele are different because you know they are eventually going to be moved on for big money. Tierney is one of our own and living his dream. Hope he never leaves but you never know what will happen. As I have said if he ever does leave I think it would be the boards decision more than his.

I think St Johnstone's team selection and tactics on Saturday, tell you everything you want to know about how good KT is.

I can't recall another occasion when a team has played its best right-back as the wide-right midfielder, in order to man mark the opposing left-back.

We keep going on about centre backs and a striker but I say this is a role needed in the squad ! All fair saying we need the above but we have two centre backs injured left back is a gap that needs filled

Won't be happening. Will look to use Miller there. From the horses mouth....

“I had a look at it, Emilio was offered the chance of a lifetime financially for three years,”

“He’s been a great servant to the club and if I thought I couldn’t cover, it couldn’t happen but I look within and I have a high regard for young Tony Ralston, who can play right and left back.

“Calvin Miller is progressing well, he looks a stronger player this season. I like the look of him.
