Celtic's Champions League season 17/18

I hate they wanks on Bt sport, saying Celtic have no chance and are just happy to be there and the group is impossible to get out of , yet Owen then says he expects all English teams including Tottenham to easily qualify despite the fact they are playing Dortmund and Real Madrid

 

Anderlecht scored 16 goals in their europa league group last season - but also conceded 8. plenty of goals at either end. They then knocked out Zenit in last 32 3-3 on agg and then Apoel before Man Utd knocked them out in last 8 in extra time.

Previous season they finished 2nd in a group of Tottenham and Monaco in europa. They then knocked out olympiakos before shaktar beat them comfotably in last 16.

Season before that they finished 3rd in group of Dortumund, Arsenal and Galatasray. Got knocked out in last 32 of Europa by Dynamo mosckow.

Difficult to read into that, but they seem to be improving each year and playing much more attacking football.

I hope we get these guys at home very early in the group

 

Our old friend Henry Onyewkru plays for Anderlecht as well.

Definitely booking Bayern away for November, be some trip.

 

I think we can get more out of the 2 games against PSG and Bayern than Anderlecht will ,just need to get the better of them.

 

Think this is only a little bit more favourable than last season but Bayern will be a real hard one home and away and no idea why people are being disparaging to what is by and large a machine, PSG we might be able to get something at home, what I've seen of them so far this season they look very good indeed however I'm no fan of that we * Neymar and will give him peters when he comes.

Anderlecht are this seasons Gladbach, I think we have a better chance of getting the upper hand on them than Gladbach, they were easily beaten twice by Leicester last season so quite hopeful we can get into the Europa League at worst with a win and draw against them, hopefully better

No Barca was the best bit of the draw and to a lesser extent no Benfica.

 

Who cares what the English think they have been winning every world cup since 1970. Thats how much they know.

I'm just going to enjoy it; 3rd is definitely doable and anything more is a bonus.

 

Really pleased with that draw. Some great away trips! We can certainly get 3rd place in that group.

Hope Neymar picks up an injury that rules him out of both our legs against PSG - not because I fear his (undoubted) talent, but rather that I'm fearful Brooney will get the jail for stamping on his head at some point!

Easy group again I see.

At least we'll have a chance against Anderlecht. May even be able to finish 3rd and drop into the Europa League. I'd be more excited to see us have a crack at that than play Bayern and PSG.

 

Im quite happy. I dont see us having any chance of qualifying but 3rd is a definite aim. At least we avoided some of the tougher third pot sides and Anderlecht from memory always seem to get pumped im the champions league.

I do hope we strengthen though as we could end up conceding a barrell load against munich and psg!

Huns are raging. Coming out with the classic "they'll get pumped" they honestly live their life on wanting us beat. They don't even think anymore just come out with it straight away.
