I was attacked on this site when I first critisised Brown early season it was clear even then that he was not the answer to our midfield problems in fact he is and was the main problem IMO.

All he has done since coming to the club is Run, run, run, look angry then run, run, run and look angry again.

The boy has got some talent but he thinks he is better than he is and that is the biggest problem with him he believes his own press. Also he has no leader next to him to learn the game from.

A wee prediction for Brown´s future. I think he will leave this summer for around 3 million to a EPL club perhaps to Birmingham and Mcleish. After 1 season there he will go to Ipox.

Robson deserves to keep his place. I also think Hartley should be in the team. So no Brown for me.

Stephen Pearson contributed more in his first season than Brown has done.

robson and hartley definitelly deserve a run, but some of you are being hard on brown, esp. Ellboy. Under a new manager he'll prove to be our best player IMO.
In relation to the substitution of robson, do any of you think maybe GS didn't think robson was playing as he instructed him to and that led to his withdrawal? I'm just thinking he was covering a lot of ground and not sticking to the centre, and we know what happened to Grav for this.

I agree with this, I reckon there is a side of him that maybe thinks he's better than he actually is. You see it in his cockiness at times, and cockiness is usually evident in players who know they are good.

I definitely think his price tag, and hype before coming to us, has had an affect on him, and maybe a spell on the bench will put that right.

No I think he was never going to take Naka or McGeady off and kept Hartley on in case of a Rangers counter attck.

I compared Pearson to Brown early season and I got pelters for it.

To me they offer very similar things enrgy, comitment and pace. Like you though I think pearson offered us more going forward than Brown did or does.

Lubo I cant see Brown being at parkhead next season. If I am wrong and he is still part of our team I would sincerely hope he would not be our best player as you sugest he will be as that would mean more poor signings in the summer.

Disagree with Brown and new manager idea, I don't see anything in his game at all to suggest that.

Re. Robson, Robson had to cover the area of the pitch in which he did with Hartley playing deeper, so I don't think he was subbed for that reason.

Robson and Hartley should definitely keep their places.I am still hopeful Brown will be a good player for us but to split a good combination just now would be madness.Brown has done nothing to merit walking back into the starting 11.

the point i'm trying to make is we are looking at brown and thinking he is under-performing, for all we know GS is giving him 9/10 every game as he is playing 'like i asked him to play'
All the comments about Graveson running around like a headless chicken for example materialised after GS made the scything comments to the media, before this most of us couldn't understand why he was being overlooked.

IF Tony Mowbray got the nod, he'd want to work with Brown and Riordan.

i do rate brown as a player , but also agree with a lot of you saying that a spell on the bench wouldnt go a miss, robson in the last 2 games has commanded the midfield ,doing a lot of running ,playing easy balls , backing players up etc and done it very well ,you cannot drop him or hartley for that matter ,at the end of the day ,they 2 compliment each other ,and you cant break that up , so well see what brown is about ,is he man enough to take on the chin and sit on the bench ,till his chance comes along , or throw the rattle out the pram and go in a huff and want out

Hartley and Robson for the run in.This is a short term solution though and I would not be happy if we were going into next season with them as our first choice midfield combination.

A blind man could spot that Gravesen's positional sense and overall discipline was shocking, and it was spoken about on here before Strachan mentioned it tbh.

If Brown is playing to orders and is doing what the Manager is asking of him then that would make me question WGS´s managerial abilities even more than I have already done.

I agree with you on Grav as to me he was left out to dry by Strachen and the fans jumped on him as they backed the manager. However I can only go by my own eyes and all I can tell you is for the first time in an age Hartley and Robson look like a decent midfield pairing and it has only taken the 2 games to do it. Tell me under WGS´s stewardship. Petrov and Lenny aside which other two midfield players have gelled like they have in the last two games.?

BTW for the record I am not Hartley´s and Robson´s biggest fan and I dont think they are the long term answer either.

The only way I would put Brown back in to the side is if we switched to a three man midfield however we all know that´s not going to happen.
You maybe right we will just have to wait and see on that one.

when brown was at hibs he was all over the park, covering every blade was the common term used, since he's been at CP this has changed dramatically.
This is similar IMO to the Grav situation, he saw a situation he could exploit and attempted to do this.

You put out your best team and the best team does not include Brown, we must stick with what is working until either it stops working or someone, ie Brown or Donati get on as a sub and give the manager something to think about. I hope thats the way WGS will be looking at it.

IMO Paul WGS bought Grav as a box to box midfield player and as soon as he realised he wasn´t that type of player he had to find away to get him off the wage bill so as to buy someone else. Brown was his next go at finding a player capable of running the midfield but again he has not worked out.

For me Grav was an excellent attacking option (far better than Brown) and should not have been excpected to play in a more defensive role as WGS wanted him to do laterly. This is and was never his game hence the reason why I think he was left out to dry.
