Just got back from Ruber Boxer's evening walk,slightly earlier than usual,i was glowing knowing we are back where we belong in the Champions League Group Stages

 

Phewww..... Scraped through that tie with only 5 goals to spair!

 

Should never be playing inexperience like that in our back line together ,it caused all the other players to have to cover positions that they would not have to normally, it also caused the fear to spread and panicked the defence ,ajer is way to inexperienced to play in a game like that, yeh build him up in spl ,Brown was having to work twice as hard as was lustig and it showed in their tired passing and stopped us being able to hold and control the pace of the game and maybe tire them out for long spells ,it forced us out our high line play.

 

It wasn't really a poor performance, we had a * 20 mins, that's all, other than that we were fine. A more experienced CB pairing and they would never have scored 4.

 

What's this about BT saying we're in for a £10m-£11m striker?? Never heard anything myself

 

He also said we had paddy Roberts which isnt confirmed.

He probably misread £1.1m

 

Glutton for punishment, just about to watch this again to see if it quite literally could of been 8-8. Great game to watch for neutrals.

Another thing I don't think anyone mentioned but Astana had a free weekend with no domestic duties.

 

After a couple of beers, some pork chops and a bit of reflection, I can enjoy it! But why did I have a nagging doubt that it wouldn't be easy? I wasn't relaxed until Griff scored; that should not be the case after a 5-0 hammering at home.
I hate to criticise Brendan, it is rare he shows weakness after all, but he should have risked Jozo for an hour tonight. I can understand the logic of it, we certainly don'y need him injured, but it would have made tonight a * of a lot easier.
Up until half-time we were doing alright, 25 minutes of being pretty comfortable, a flukey goal, although I thought Forrest and Lustig were poor in the build-up, but we recovered and equalised and I thought it was all going to be straightforward. Then everyone switches off, they score one goal and it is pandemonium; thoughts of Israel twelve months ago come flooding back. Brown was playing like he had hit the booze, Lustig and Bitton were making Ajer nervous. Craig Gordon was inspiring no confidence and I had visions of disaster.
Credit must go to Olivier Ntcham, who has the classiest player on the pitch; my hopes for this lad are sky high. He has the potential to be world class. I am still amazed Man City let him go. Credit too toKT for battling through all night and Rogic when he came on for adding some composure and Sinclair for the goal that should have finished it.
Who said being a * was easy?

 

Had a wee wobble but got there in the end. Make shift defence is just not the answer. Anyone else beginning to see too many mistakes in Lustig's game?

8 goals in the play off round is phenomenal. You have to expect some resistance when you attack so much.

We had a brain fart for 20 minutes in 180 minutes of football.

If we can keep the level of concentration for the rest of the season we will be doing well.

Finished the game with no centre backs, 2 teenagers and a 20 year old. Two academy products as well. Invaluable experience for Ralston and Ajer tonight.

We had a bad 20 minutes against a team that had nothing to lose and everything to gain while we had already done the job.

The doom merchants are pathetic at times on here.

 

I loved how we were were pushing for the equaliser on the night, keep the unbeaten run going.

We are a different animal in Europe now, attacking and arrogant. Love it.
