We had the same warning against Ber Sheva last season when will the board learn we need the players in and settled before the qualifiers

Despite losing on the night and that poor second half, we still scored the goals to secure the tie and the players deserve credit for getting back into it.

Things to take into consideration are that Bitton and Ajer aren't a good CB pairing, the time difference, the location and the heat. We got away with having Bitton at CB in the first leg, because he had Simunovic beside him. Ajer isn't nearly as good or experienced and we suffered as a result. Astana went gung ho because they had nothing to lose and fair play to them. I think we became complacent and tiredness set in a little bit.

But none of that really matters now, because we're back in the Champions League for the second season in a row.

Ach, defensively mate we won't have to worry about going in to games with Bitton and Ajer as our first choice CB's - clearly it's only an emergency situation as we are without Jozo, Boyata and Sciatchenko (who looks to be off anyway.

You know the way it goes, most top quality players are probably waiting to see if we qualified first before even thinking about coming here - well, we have now, so lets see the club actually try and go get some quality players in - 2 NEEDED, another one would would be nice.

Happy * days mate, Hail Hail!!

I feel pretty similar, even at 4-1 the result was never in doubt for me. The fact we dominated the game for most of the match other than early-mid second is much more pleasing to me than an extra-ordinary breakdown in defence for half an hour. As long as there is not a repeat occurrence.

That being said our back line has always been suspect it's just less noticeable in the Scottish league, so we have room to improve.

We've scored 8 goals in this tie, that's unbelievable!!, the worrying thing for me is.. we had a 20min period where our experienced players capitulated.. Brown, Lustig & Bitton were absolutely shocking for about 20mins..

But bhoys and girls think overall.. 5-0 at home and 4-3 away.. you'd bite your hand off for that!!

    Job done.

After a dominant first half and a flukey goal, we had a 15/20 after half time because the tie was done. Delighted for Ajer and Ralston to get experience at that level.

No doubt all the panic merchants will be on their element tonight moaning about all the players. The usual suspects will be on telling us how bad we were and how * our squad is.

Same * wouldn't be seen if we won 5-0 again. Probably be creaming themselves if we didn't qualify...

Well done Brendan and the boys :62:

That game today showed the board we need another defender. We've been on these qualifiers without a striker, at the end without a decent defender. Which is a farce.

Let's take the positives out of that.
We are through to the group stages
We scored 8 over the two legs. A massive improvement from last year.
Our transfer movement hinged on qualifying so we can hope to see more in.
We haven't picked up any additional injuries or suspensions (I think).
    And we've proved bittons hummin

Thats the future pairing, 1st choice CL midfield will eventually be Roberts, Armstrong, Ntcham, Rogic and Sinclair

Lustig, Tierney, Joso and Gordon + CH? in defence with moussa or griff up front.
