Brendan is on another level to Strachan , who is clearly getting dotty in his old age.

Would have McGregor playing the number 10 role for Scotland. Starting.

 

I'm starting to lose a wee bit of respect for WGS. I cannot fathom how he can leave this guy out especially when you look at who he's included. I'm just wondering if Strachan's sick of the Scotland job and having a bit of fun as he's working his ticket out the door. I liked the wee man with us for most of his reign but got a bit * in the end especially with the way he dealt with that spat with Mcgeady.

 

We are 6 games through a 10 game group stage. We are still in with an outside shout of qualifying.

The players who have played the first 6 games deserve the right to see the campaign out until our chance of qualifying is over.

Strachan is loyal to the players - sometimes too loyal to the detriment of our chances - but loyalty is still a principle to respect.

McGregor will surely be involved from the beginning of the next campaign regardless of who the manager is, but I agree with Strachan that new players shouldnt be being introduced into the campaign in place of players who have already contributed.

 

It isn't loyalty, it's a dinosaur with a jobs for the boys attitude holding talented youngsters back to keep playing his favourites.

snodgrass couldn't get close to lacing mcgregors boots atm, he's slow, unfit, one footed, one paced and moaning attitude every time i see him. McGregor is scoring for fun and plays in a better team than west ham where snodgrass can't get a game ---

Said it on another thread but it's not just McGregor. We aren't going to qualify anyway. We've wasted yet another 2 years of Strachan playing his favourites instead of giving the next generation a chance.

There's absolutely no reason people like Anya or Whittaker should be getting picked ahead of Cammy Kerr, Martin or Mulgrew ahead of Souttar or Lindsay, even Naismith and Snodgrass ahead of someone like McKay who's started on fire down at Forest.

Even when asked about McGregor he wouldn't talk about him directly. Looked down to his list and started talking about Barry Bannan. Strachan knows he's in the wrong but is a stubborn *.

All this after stating how big a deal it was having Scottish players playing Champions League football.

 

The squad strachan picked today took 4 points from Slovenia/England double header. Thats their contribution. And I hope to see them take 6 from Lithuania/Malta games. Let them finish a job theyve started.

This whole bizzare concept of playing the same player's through a whole campaign or 3 is mental to me..

So basically don't bring any in when we're no gonna be qualifying for a tournament, like the last 20 year's, just because the other's have been around longer. So when we're trying to qualify for 2020 then it'll be a clean slate with a new influx who'll also need a campaign or 3 for those to gel also..

No, that's not the concept in my opinion.

My understanding of the concept is that you pick a squad and if that squad takes 4 points from England/Slovenia you let that same squad take on Malta/Lithuania. And if they take 6 points from that let them take on Slovakia/Slovenia. If they don't take 6 points then mix it up.

 

The whole press charade sounded like a complete lie. Which it probably was.I remember Sir Alec saying once if Strachan said it was raining outside, he would still peek out the windy to check.
