The fact that bannan, cairney and MacArthur are in before him is a * joke. Embarrassing.

Strachan is real traditionalist and a stickler for discipline.
I wonder if its anything to do with McGregor's ban for drink driving ? Strachan dozern't like that kind of thing.

Newcastle had a 20m bid rejected for Cairney just last week - he's certainly not pish

Barry Bannan is the playmaker for a very decent sheffield wednesday side who were almost promoted to the EPL

McArthur is a premier league player for Palace who has 28 caps and 7 years of international exp under his belt.

In Strachan we (sort of) trust.

I don't think Strachan would expect him to drive his Ford Fiesta to their next game in Lithuania Doc

Sheffield Wednesday lost, at home, to the huns in pre-season. Yes, it was pre-season, but it was also the huns...

Cairney isn't pish but using Newcastle bidding 20 mill for him as a reason for him being a good player is daft..

Barry Bannan is pish. Sheffield Wednesday are pish..

    McArthur is pretty pish..

    I don't..

Not his biggest fan, but that he isn't in the latest squad is poor.
And just about shows up the problems we have in Scotland.
    * like Strachan will stick to what they think they know - fear that something different will result in failure so hope that the same old same old gets us by.

When guys like mcarthur hang up their international boots without making a major final, who do we then rely on? Mcgregor eventually when he is 2 years from international retirement? A john mcginn who is in his mid to late 20s?

Its been proven, for what ever reason and there are many, that this idea of playing the most oldest/maturist is not working. They haven't gelled with a team, christ 28 international caps in 7 years? That's 4 games a year. How are they ever meant to gel as a squad? That's half a season of games for us and we know plenty players who haven't managed to gel with a club in that sort of time. How we think the international squad is going to manage it spread over so long?

Anyway, not a national team thread, so back on track.

Mcgregor should be getting a call up and has done well under rodgers. Not his biggest fan (rogic is better) but certainly a tidy little player and has proven it down south as well.

He wouldn't be picking a guy he released in Mulgrew either then..

Personally I think that Strachan isn't picking Mcgregor because of the amount of players we already have in the national team.
With dwindling crowds as it is he may be trying save some of the hun support.

Not sure how much more McGregor can do to convince him.

The problem I have with his omission is that Strachan in interviews talks about wanting players who can take the ball under pressure, make a range of passes and be brave on the ball.

McGregor ticks every single one of those aspects yet doesn't get a sniff.

    Baffling!!
