Doesn't matter to me if it's a loan, just delighted to have a player of that quality back here.

"At least he's coming back" as bad as "just glad to be there" when talking about the CL, small club mentality.

It's because he isn't really committing himself to us. I love Paddy hugely he's an amazing talent with massive potential who is 10x the player of Forrest and 100x the player of Hayes.

But how is it fair and what kind of message does that send out to Forrest/Hayes that a player can just come in on loan and take their position in the team whilst not being fully committed to the club and who will be away again at the end of the season? Don't get me wrong if he signs even on loan he starts every game for me at RW throughout the season but it still doesn't make it fair.

If he wants to be here I just feel he should commit himself to a 4 year contract, Man City know he has no future with them and want to sell him for as much as possible. I'm certain a bid between £8-10M with some add ons in their favour would have secured him.

What is a substantial loan fee anyway? Is that like paying £3M for him when we could just put that fee towards bringing him in on a permanent instead? Just seems a nonsense really.

honestly don't think that's likely. He's going to want to stay here and if we do really really well this season MC might allow it to happen :celt_2:

We might have tried to buy him and City wont want to sell, put it this way we didnt pay a fee to get him 18 months ago, see if we have had to pay £1.5m to bring him in on loan Paddy for 2 and half years for £1.5m thats Randy Marsh material!

As supporters all we care about is the product on the park, i don't care if a player is here for a 1 year loan or if he's signed a 5 year deal, these things will take care of themselves over time, our focus is on the season ahead, and with wee Paddy back in town it makes it all the more exciting.

Disappointed it's a loan if I'm honest, would rather we splashed the cash and bought him outright. Wouldn't have mattered if it was 15m we paid as in a few years we would at least recoup that for him. However I hope this loan has an option to buy next year for a fee that's already been agreed.

As I've said, they'll be demanding a extortionate fee. We'll have no chance..

2.5 years of paddy. Then hes left with a year left on his contract after? I can see us signing him again next year and getting a further 3 years. * result.

What does confuse me is how does this benefit city in any way? He won't get into their squad next year and he'll be sold, at most, for 2/3 million more than what we might of offered. Seems strange.
