Some pundits suggesting we should play a weaker team over there, not for me though. An early goal or two an it could get nervy. Full strength, keep possession, run the clock down, don't give em a sniff.

Just watched the whole game back, it's about time we got a bit of luck in these games and nice change. Ref was good as well apart from letting them off with a few bad challenges and Browns yellow but that was the linesman.

Over to Kazakhstan 5 at the back and play on the counter picking them off. Astana will either go all out or just turn up not caring thinking it's over.

Considering how much this means to us financially, it'd be criminal not to play a full strength team.

    From UEFA regulations 2017-18 comp
49.01 As a rule, a player who is sent off the field of play is suspended for the next match in a UEFA club competition (i.e. UEFA Champions League, UEFA Europa League or UEFA Super Cup). In case of serious offences, the UEFA Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Body is entitled to augment this punishment, including by extending it to other competitions.
49.02 In case of repeated cautions: a. before the group stage, a player is suspended for the next competition match after three cautions in three different matches, as well as after the fifth caution; b. from the first match in the group stage, a player is suspended for the next competition match after three cautions in three different matches, as well as following any subsequent odd-numbered caution (fifth, seventh, ninth, etc.).
49.03 Single yellow cards and pending suspensions are always carried forward either to the next stage of the competition or to the UEFA Europa League in the current season.
49.04 Exceptionally, all yellow cards and pending yellow-card suspensions expire on completion of the play-offs. They are not carried forward to the group stage. In addition, all yellow cards expire on completion of the quarter-finals. They are not carried forward to the semi-finals.
49.05 Cautions and pending yellow-card suspensions from the competition or the UEFA Europa League expire at the end of the season.

Think we should go over there and do them another hiding. They have never lost a game at home in europe, it will also help our poor away record!

I think the team has the ability and mental capacity to go over there and get a result, there is a composure about us now in away games, after last night the pressure is off, but the job still has to be done, they will have to go for it and i'm sure we will exploit this with our pace and attacking options.

For sure there is still some work to do but with a 5-0 lead and Griffiths being our only fit striker right now I would not be surprised if we left him out of the second leg.
