Feeling supremely confident for this which appears not to be the going rate here amongst the majority.

Don't worry folks. We'll spank this mob.

Signed in online earlier for a gander and it was only limited availability in most sections...went in and it's only seats here and there for North and JS...didn't check Lisbon but i would thought it was heading for a sell-out!

In people's opinions how does this team compare to Rosenborg?

Hard to say. According to Rodgers himself Rosenborg were a well coached, well organised unit who were a good team albeit limited going forward. Astana a good bit more open as a team though have a real powerhouse up front so can score goals. I think there could be goals in this one rather than a 1-0 like Rosenborg.

Reading between the lines, easier to score against but more dangerous.

Will suit us better in all honesty.

I'm confident we'll go through because we have Brendan on our side, however their two main attacking players Junior Kabananga and Patrick Twumasi do give me the fear.

Agree completely. Even if we had the strongest possible line-up last year, the quality of the individuals can't compensate for the spirit in the current side that Rodgers has instilled over the past year. People say another treble is presumptuous thinking but honestly if you look at what was accomplished last year, and look at the cumulative improvement in basically every aspect of this football club, it just seems like it's only the beginning of something. If we finish third in the CL group stage, I can see us still in Europe in the spring. There's just *something* about this side.

I think this was mentioned earlier in thread when the mad panic was on about the draw! They weren't my first choice but as time has passed i've become more comfy with it. I think us and Olympiakos were the 2 teams everypne wanted to avoid.

In last years 4 CL and 6 EL games and this years 4 CL games they've had 4 clean sheets i think with biggest wins of 3-1 last round and 2-0 against Bate last year.

'If' we turn up i can't see us not going through. We are a better team but they're not going to give us that place without a scrap!

ps- that's why i think 1-0 is a half decent result.

1 nil would be a decent result, confident that we could get an away goal tbh.

Tough to say, one thing i know is astana have a much better attack than rosenborg. I'd also rate astanas defence slightly above rosenborg too. I do however, think astanas midfield is a lot worse. They're slightly better than rosenborg in general but we also have our main striker back for this.

Not sure how to feel about this game, we had a hard time against them last season but we are a far better team now.

Does anyone know if the Dolphin bar in partick will be open before the game? I'd heard it was re-opening but not 100% sure.

I would just like to win a qualifer by a large margin really comfortably.

How relaxing would it be to win 4 or 5-0?

So what's the verdict here, are Astana any better than Hapoel Beer Sheva (spelling)? I'm not so sure they are. Have we improved since last year's qualifiers? yes without a doubt imo. Do we still make it incredibly difficult for ourselves though? Absofuckinlutely

Seen a thing on twitter about it reopening, and they were asking folk to spread the word.
About time it reopened, cracking wee boozer.

This. We should've done that last year in the play off first leg but usual * ups occurred

A lot of people thought that about Rosenborg. It's our defence that worries me, this mob have pace, they'll be dangerous.
