Pretty much this although I don't like comparing us with the comedy club. The thing i really struggle with is those who seem to think he isn't an asset. Its difficult to take that seriously tbh, as it's obvious he is.

Aye there is and this comes up on a semi regular basis but its easier for people to just spout * and make up 'stuff'.

I'd be interested to see the breakdown.

    It won't be peanuts.

The periods when his salary and bonuses rose the most was when we were really struggling on the pitch, he is running the whole structure of the club basically. So i don't see how if we are not making certain targets then why is he being paid so well, after all if there is no show on the park then he has no club to run all only my opinion of course.

It might be, it might not. I don't know.

Do YOU know what it is that they do on a daily/weekly/monthy/yearly basis? I don't, and neither does @Gyp Rosetti.

I already said I don't think the rest will be on anything like Lawwell, but that image is Lawwell's pay and bonus structure.

I'm pretty sure even CEO's of football clubs contracts have incriments in them. See if you worked for (let's say Royal Mail) - would YOU be happy if your salary was the exact same as it was when you joined 10 year ago, or would you have expected to make more money for service?

his bonuses could very well have been for keeping us financially afloat during time when we were struggling on the pitch, you never know...

Aye, but you've made it clear you don't think he's earned it.

I've stated I don't think you have the slightest clue into the daily in/outs of his duties, same as me.

All I am saying is I am uncomfortable with his salary and bonuses rising when the footballing side of things was being severely cut back. And if I remember correctly this is why he deferred bonuses as he felt it would be wrong given the state we were in.

I think it's pretty clear Peter was basically running the club as he seen fit up until last year, that is why Desmond basically stepped in after the Ronny debacle. Yes you are right neither you or me are privy to what Lawwell does, but I do not think a CEO should be on more than some of the players. If the side on the park isn't good enough because of certain signing policies, then the CEO shouldn't be getting pay rises that don't reflect their performance.

    Look at the report.

We've got 6 other (when you exclude Desmond and Lawwell) hangers-on and we're paying nearly a million for them per year.

Brian Wilson spends most of his time on Twitter extolling the benefits and virtues of Her Majesty's Union, so there's a wage thief right away.

Come on to * Gyp, how many companies do you know of where the worker bees are even on anywhere near the wage of the CEO or company director(s)??

Who is it that you think gives Lawwell his contract(s) of employment? Himself? Naw. Pretty sure Mr Desmond is yer man that would be seeing to that, so I really don't think he's going to sanction payments to him on a yearly basis (with bonuses) if he weren't doing his job properly as CEO of the company.

Let's be honest mate, you seen the numbers (and to us plebs on the street it looks ridiculous), but like me you know next to nothing what goes on behind the doors of CP, and what PL does.

Fair enough mate but I honestly think the rate in which his salary and bonuses have rose is shocking. As I said especially the state that our side was in at various times over the last few years, yes there is this stigma attached to Lawwell with the heated driveway and * like that. That said I do think he knows he is on a good thing here tbh that's why he is still here. And Ive said in here aswell I would rather a lot of the rest of the * upstairs were shown the door before him.
