Played well enough I thought. Prefer him and Armstrong in the middle though. They built a really good partnership last season and complemented each other brilliantly. Shame the Armstong contract situation has scuppered it developing further this season so far.

I think we could all go digging for posts that other members have made about certain players, comments are made at the time which were an honest opinion of how someone see's that particular player, i don't see anything wrong with that.

Look at Griff as an example, when we signed him a lot didn't think he was anywhere near good enough for us ?

Hindsight is such a wonderful thing.

That's what a discussion Forum is for.

The fact he's been great for so long now also doesn't gloss over the fact he was * to begin with. For more than 1 season.

Be interesting to see the posts about Larsson after his first game...

Wasn't really digging, was just reading through to see how people viewed him over the years. He definitely had some poor spells of form but there isn't a player in history who wouldn't go through spells of poor form.

I'll be the first to admit I was dead against us signing Griffiths but now hes Mr reliable to me in the team and can always count on him to dig in. Funny how time can change things!

I was one of his harshest critics and yet the first time a seen him (friendly at QPR) you could tell he would be Captain material..

He's withstood the harshest of criticism and still went out time and time again and proved people wrong.

To play for us for this long under the scrutiny and relentless pressure that comes with job shows an amazing strength of character.

He's the driving force behind us and he will be so hard to replace after the 10.. :50:

Ive called many players wrong so don't want to sound hypocritical, out of current team I had written Gordon, Boyata and Armstrong off at some point or another.

However the way people turned on Scott Brown during the 2015/16 season was pure *. He had proven himself over years previously and then had a few months poor form due to playing through injury and the hyperbole surrounding him from a lot of people was genuinely embarrassing. Our fans can be as fickle as any.

All the negative posts have been bumped about a dozen times. His spell of poor form happened to be for over a season after he joined hence the volume of negativity towards him.

The Scott Brown of today doesn't even bear a resemblance to the one of 2007/2008. When he joined all he had was a brilliant engine and a decent turn on the ball. Now he has leadership, game management, positioning, drive, intelligence and his passing has improved tenfold.
