He has his faults, but deserves praise for maneuvering us into a excellent financial position..

    Of course it will.

He might be rolling in cash, but he's still a human being.

    Absolutely.

My point is though, no matter what he has done in terms of positivity for this club (his club too, considering he's first and foremost a fan like the rest of us), it will either never be good enough for some folk, or it will be totally ignored in favour of the negative parts.

If he can do both jobs then brilliant. If not then I hope he remains here. Met him on a number of occasions and he's a genuine guy.

    And be left with who?

We have a world-class CEO. We are a team in Scotland with little resources given to us, therefore the job that our guys upstairs have done for years in FINDING us finance has been nothing short of remarkable.

Really, that's come as a surprise :giggle1: but, as said, you better be prepared for a disappointment.

Anyway If he did leave, I'm sure DD will have someone lined up and there wont be any drastic changes, so you will just have someone else to 'hate on' :bye1:

No denying Peter Lawwell has done a brillant job running the club from a business perspective but from a fan perspective he's complicit in trying to make the club palatable for English football, bland teams with no atmosphere at grounds and genuine fans priced out of buying season tickets. Don't want him to leave purely for the fact that another * cut from the same cloth will be brought in with less experience and probably less business acumen. Highly doubt he cries himself to sleep at night cause someone on a forum called him a *, can't keep everyone happy and gets paid well for that reason.

He's transformed Celtic really, the stadium has been done up and standing section built, Lennoxtown built, scouting improved, finances rocketed up, successful youth teams. Not all down to him but he'd likely played a good part in it all, overseen the most successful period since Jock Stein winning the League 11 times out of 15.

When he does leave we won't get a better replacement. No chance.

People seem to think that he is the big bad wolf and in the past he has admittedly had his faults. However as Ive said in this thread multiple times already, if some fans think we will get someone to come in and be a 'sound *' 100% of the time and pander to their every need it just isn't going to happen. You don't get guys like that in the role he plays.

It's a cliche now but football is a business, and he knows it inside out. The potential deal for Roberts for example, one of the main reasons I am confident we will get him in is because I know we have Lawwell at the head of the table negotiating. As a business man and a guy who has all the contacts you'd ever want, we won't find better on our budget.

Ive had a go at him in the past, mostly out of sheer frustration with things on the field during those periods. Fact is, he has played a huge part in getting us to where we are now, even his biggest 'haters' cannot ignore that fact. Ok, many look at his wage and boke but for the job he does, if you compare it with the most average of footballers and what they are earning, you can hardly have the cheek to moan, lets be honest.

He can get some credit for that stuff but he's still a * in my book.
    Aye yer right I'm not.
