Delighted by this, seeing Aitken charging down the park with the ball at his feet or chasing down an opponent as we sang 'feed the bear' will live long in my memory

*' delighted with this news. Big Roy was my favourite player for years, and outwith the Lions, probably my all time favourite player. That's how much I love the guy.

I can remember Souness was going to skelp him on the way back from Romania but didn't. Don't know about Switzerland.

Was the night we got pumped off Neuchatel Xamax, I actually think that could have been the one Billy skelped him.

No big Billy cracked him in his first spell as Celtic Manager, it was early 80's.

Aitken was a bit before my time.

Though have heard he he absolutely hated the Huns and would take no prisoners.

Also heard Johnny Doyle * hated the Huns too.

Aye couldn't have been Brady was in charge, but I remember him allegedly being skelped on the flight home as he was rubbing it in as our worst ever defeat.

He wrote a fair amount of books about Celtic, I think the whole slagging off Roy Aitken * was down to him not liking big McNeill.

Aye he done Bobby Lennox's book, I actually think you're right he turned against us after the incident you mentioned, I also remember him saying he wished Hearts had won the league in 86.
