First impressions, Astana look a handy team, tall and physical, and unbeaten in their last thirteen home European games, we are definitely going to need some sort of lead to take over there from the first leg.And that hybrid plastic pitch looks in immaculate condition. And their two African forwards Twumasmi and Kabananga look rapid.We will need two solid and pacy CB's to combat them.

 

For me Isma and Lafferty sprinted away 2-3 times from Jozo and bitton yesterday.

Gamboa needs to play at RB for me and tell Tierney they need to cover like Jackie Mac used to cover Mjallby, Balde and Varga during MON final season!

 

Still think that over the two legs we will win comfortably. They are no better than Rosenborg imo. Also think it'll be harder for them to adjust to playing on our time to us playing on theirs.

 

I think you might be right about Gamboa. Lustig will get raped against this team for speed because what I am seeing just now in their game against Legia Warsaw, they look a real handful upfront, but not so clever in defence, but their goalkeeper is spot on. Tierney playing sweeper ? Why not play Hayes at LB as he is rapid too ?.

 

Is their goal not Mokin? He had a mare for karagandy against us positioning was shocking, Hayes is another option definetly

 

Apparently Twumasi has asked to leave. Bursaspor are after him.

Wasn't meaning to come across as negative, just pragmatic. I don't like to count my chickens until the eggs hatch.
My main worry is Lustig and his increasing lack of speed and recovery at RB. I think Brendan is going to have to think hard on this position very soon.
