I don't know what bathe * Brendan is playing at mate. I know I'm not a world class manager but he's never a CB... It's gonna take for us to concede stupidly possibly in Europe to see this

I was feeling a sense of relief with bitton seemingly edging closer and closer to the exit. This injury crisis means he will be here until xmas at least.

Thought he was excellent today. Did his job and kept it simple.

Thought the praise he got against Rosenborg was a bit OTT, didn't really have much to do.

Today he was very good. Seeing him actually win headers was particularly pleasant as he previously must have been one of the worst in the air for a 6'5 bloke.

Ping for the first goal was class, seems actually more comfortable with the whole game in front of him. Fairly happy with him slotting in at CB in home games in the SPL, saying that though he does have frailties at CB that are to be expected.

BR on Nir Bitton's showing in central defence: "You can see he's very comfortable there."

BR: "Firstly, he can defend. We just haven't thrown him in there. He has played a lot there in training and in exercises."

BR: "He's in good in the air, he's a good size, he reads the game well as a defender and he has the courage to play and start attacks."

BR: "I thought he was outstanding when he came on during the week and today he looked like a top centre-half."

Certainly very comfortable with the ball which is more than can be said of many of the centre halfs Celtic have had in recent times. Would be a gamble playing him in Europe because he is untested against quality sides, Hearts wasnt exactly the hardest of tests.

Played well but still like I said they didn't offer much in attack so he didn't really have to defend much, composed on the ball and lovely assist from him today though

I'd still have a new centre half come in and see him sold, instead. Sorry Brendan.

His calmness and distribution from the back is very good but a couple of time's he looked laboured when being run at, once or twice just about getting away with it but on other's Jozo coming round to cover him..

He'll get away with it just now, but I'm near certain it'll cost us in bigger game's, even domestically..

His long-range passing ability is certainly one of his best attributes. However, his defending today was terrific I thought.

He was a massive part of why Lafferty was losing the rag so early on. Whenever the long ball went up to him he won most of the aerial duels between the two and led to Lafferty going off his nut so much that the * really should've been sent off.

Excellent big chap, hope he gets back to the form of a couple of seasons ago. Can fairly pass a ball. Remember a little nut meg against mancity and pass to rogic for the Tierney goal and one other in the the first sevco game last season for dembele to rip senderos. These things can go unnoticed but not by Rodgers I'm sure.

He always seems to play well at the start of the season. I remember him being class in the first 5-1 hun game. Karate kicked a rodent and slotted through a brilliant ball for moussa's 2nd. He can still have a big part to play if he's happy being a squad player.

The set-up for Griffiths' first shows the benefit of having a central defender who can spot a pass and make it from a distance. For games like today where we're in total control and he doesn't have much to do, he's just fine.

But he'll still switch off at key times and let people run off him, he'll still get casual with his passing and lose possession and he'll still have days where he just won't want to get involved in a physical battle.

I'm happy with him playing in games like today and the midweek Cup tie, but trusting him out in Kazakhstan? No thanks.
