I agree but sometimes as hard it can be to watch frustrating players at times, what they can do on form can make up for it.

Obviously you want consistency but look at what players Samaras could produce on their day. McGeady similar but I would say he was more consistent than Samaras. Both were fantastic on their day. Especially Samaras in Europe for us.

Still think Mcgeady for 250k would have been a cracking bit of business.

EX-Celtic star Aiden McGeady has recalled the time Neil Lennon "threatened to kill" him over a cheeky nutmeg in training.

The winger made the revelation in an interview with former teammate Simon Ferry.

McGeady laughed as he told Ferry that Lennon gave him an earful after the then 17-year-old had nutmegged him during a training session.

He said: "I had the ball in training and I had nowhere to go, Lenny was running towards me at full pace.

"I don't think I called it but I just 'megged him, he was threatening to kill me."

McGeady revealed that a furious Lennon told him: "Do that again and I'll kill you."

He added: "I remember Thommo [Alan Thompson] came up and told me "I'll give you £100 if you meg him again"".

The starlet was also backed up by Hoops legend Henrik Larsson, who encouraged the young winger to try it again.

McGeady said: "Henrik Larsson told me, "you're on the same pitch as him, you deserve to be here".

"That really stuck out for me."

McGeady went on to make 185 appearances for Celtic before moving to Spartak Moscow in 2010.

Enjoyed that one. The Celtic dressing room sounds ruthless back then.

I thought McGeady came across really well. He seemed pushy in his earlier days at Celtic with regards to trying to force getting into the reserves and then training with the first team, you need that kind of attitude to get where you want to be career wise so fair play to him for being like that at an early age

Starting to question Strachan's man management skills here.

    Aye he's not bad.

Would certainly prefer him to that mongoloid McCulloch.

I get more of the feeling that McGeady was a bit of a banger, who thought he had made it before he did.
A lot of players such a Broony rave about his man management.

He doesn't seem to be aware we got into the last 16 of the CL in season 2007/2008.

He seems to think we only did it in 2006/2007.

You'd think a player who was involved in games at that level would at least remember things like this.

Strachan seemed to really hate him.

Just listening to him talk about the bust-up with Lenny at Dunfermline.

McGeady says Lenny started it (probably true, I can't remember) but that when he got into the dressing room Strachan blamed him and started making an example of him in front of everyone.

"You think because you do a few trick you can pull a few girls in a nightclub, but this man can pass a ball to his team-mate" :56::56::56:

Can see how neither of them got along. Both of them have things about them that would annoy the * out of me! Think they were just as bad as each other.

Can see what Aiden means though. Strachan is a bit of a sarcastic * at times.

Can't stand either of them tbh

Strachan does seem like the sort of * who would just take a dislike to someone and be a * about it and McGeady is the sort of * who think he's better than he is.

Doesnt he say "and the season before" then goes on to talk about the season Ferry mentions as playing Benfica,Donestk and Milan then getting Barcelona in the knock out - the 07/08 season?
