Was a * of a team to get in the first round anyway, there were bound to be incidents.

And if UEFA understood anything about politics, Celtic and football in these parts, then the Butchers apron would be banned from Parkhead period..... not to mention those other political sectarian seperatist flags the mini Huns and their Deed cusins wave so tauntingly for 90 mins every-time they visit.

On the DA side, its only the Rosenborg and Hearts games that will be affected :97:

Nah you are quite right mate. If you feel this strongly then fair play to you for taking a stand.

Might as well try and make your money back if you can.

Ahh, I thought you had a ticket already.

Of course some other nugget will buy the ticket you could have had. Difference is they will be sitting in silence, maybe the odd "come on". You'd (maybe) make a difference.

I don't know, I just think going to the game and putting your point across is better than staying at home and them being none the wiser. Either way they are getting their money.

If the GB are switched on commercially they should already be in the process of getting new t-shirts out to sell and raise funds with the now legendary "Rodgers at Work" sign on it, I will take one in Large and will wear it with pride, I'm sure many others will follow suit, albeit not necessarily in Large :56:

One of the more frustrating aspects of this debacle is the repeated claims by some fans on social media and forums that "a bunch of 17 year olds think they know better than the board".

Seen it a few times now and it's an embarrassingly poor generalisation of fellow fans to say the least.

Michael Davitt, Andrew Kerins, John Glass, Robert Kelly, Fergus McCann, Neil Lennon to name a small few right off the top of my head.

All embroiled in highly charged political decisions during their time at Celtic.

You say we should never be a political vehicle? I say we have never stopped being one since the day we were born.

In financial terms the club mentioned that there's 900 ST holders being banned so times that by an average of say £400 a ST then that's £360,000, not including the framed photos the club sell of GB tifos in the Celtic shop for the best part of £200 and the hangers on for want of a better phrase around the GB section they more than cover the average of £20,000 we get in fines every season. Obviously it's just 2 games so divide it by 10 and you are still sitting at £36,000 which should cover the fine for the Police blocking stairwells and the bibs aswell:50:
Knowing the board they will probably resale the tickets aswell...:fear:

Couldn't give a * about the ban, it's just the fact they've banned our most vocal support for one of the biggest games of our season it's incredibly daft.

Flares and banners like that are risky and were never going to be tolerated. Some
Sort of mark had to be made for the board to regain dominance.

The flares was a bit daft but we are 2 months down the line, the banner is a storm in tea cup created into an issue by Hun *, never once mentioned the IRA or any political messages, fair enough it used some iconography if someone is genuinely offended by a picture of a warning sign and a skull in camouflage then they need to get a grip

I'm certain that 90% of our support love the noise, energy and colour the green brigade bring to match days (& beyond) and without doubt the club would be a poorer place without them but ffs i think its time for them to play a little bit smarter when UEFA are in town. Yes UEFA are a hypocrytical sack of * etc etc but unless there is a monumental, unprecedented shift in their stance on such things then the club will continue to get hit in the pocket (at the very least) which is a situation the board rightly refuse to tolerate. Whether we like it our not, that's the facts and the reality of the situation. We can still have amazing banners and a cracking atmosphere on these nights without stirring up trouble for ourselves.

Back in the day (70s - 80s) the Rebs got sung, no question. But that was it. There was no one walking about with Palestinian flags or Che Guevara scarfs. I don't know if anyone on the terracing would know what a * Zionist was (I didn't). There was no one shouting about us being a left wing club.

No big deal about poppies and the anti board feeling that has been present for numerous years wasn't present at all (until the 90s sack the board movement).

The only time I remember anything similar back then were chants of Argentina during the Falklands war.

So, in my opinion, the political agendas of supporters going to Celtic games back then were less pronounced than now.

The point I was making is that back then, even though the Rebs were sung, football was the main event without some of the issues that accompanies it today.

Mate, I'm nor anyone with half a brain is offended. The fact though is well all know it's risky and will get punished off the suits.

I do think also there needs to be a win win for both parties with the standing section.. it's a lovely thing to have, but the whole stadium ripped the pish with the Rebs on Wednesday and the board will automatically blame the green bridge.
