Contrary to popular belief and what I've regularly read in this thread, the atmosphere at Parkhead on European nights and big league games was equally as good pre-Green Brigade as it is now. Yes, theyve improved the atmosphere at the more "run-of-the-mill" home games and put on several very impressive displays but the GB disciples need to stop over-egging the benefit they have brought to our club and look at the damage and potential future damage they are causing/could cause.

I love the displays and enjoy the flares, banners, palestine flags, songs etc but I am also aware these are against UEFA rules as ridiculous as they might be. We need the crumb of Champions League money from the UEFA table to in effect guarentee long-term domination of Scottish football and eclipse all achievements and records of any Scottish club beyond doubt. I dont believe we should jeopardise this needlessly with flares and Irish Republican banners (Palestine display was justified and immune from criticism). Irish Republicanism is not a pre-requisite or essential part of following or supporting Celtic. It's not a core value or Celtic tradition so surely we can leave it at the door on European nights and avoid damaging repurcussions?

I'm still waiting on the 50 pages of outrage from these so called "fans" that were nowhere to be seen last week yet have plenty to say all of a sudden...

No. Again: there has NEVER been and there never will be an expulsion from European Competitions in those grounds. There has never been any bigger risk to Celtic than getting a fine worth what Peter Lawell probably spends on dog food per month. The board, those altruist professionals who never do anything wrong, according to some here, simply decided to take revenge on the fans, risking wasting the mood in an important qualifier and losing income from hundreds of fans.

There's something that keeps coming up which I just cannot get my head around.... How can anyone state the Palestine display cannot be criticised but the banners on Wednesday can be?

Both can be viewed just as provocative as each other depending on your political leanings. They're both political statements of where your sympathies/loyalties lie as well. Both have ended up in repercussions for the club as a result of having those particular displays.

So how can one be acceptable and another totally off limits?

Republicanism has this week created more media coverage and headlines than Racism toward a black Celtic player on a sectarian bonfire. That alone makes the media frenzy and fake outrage from an NI or Scots UEFA official totally backward and offensive in its own hypocrisy.

One is still involved in a conflict and armed struggle. The other has left it behind to take part in dialogue to ensure a good future for all children.

Last time the GB got banned me and my mates were getting shooshed at by folk for singing, while Aberdeen pumped us out the cup in our own ground spurred on by their away supportwho were jumping about singing their lungs out for 90 mins putting the 50-odd thousand home fans to shame.

The Irish Republican and Palestinian flags are exactly the same thing before the eyes of UEFA and there is literally no difference for them.
