Superb start to the season from him - and others.

Always felt after Rodgers signed, Rogic would drop out of favour (sadly). Rodgers has knowingly talked about one Anchor (Brown) and two runners (Armstrong and McGregor) as his ideal formation. Playing more of a Barcelona 4123. Which would have left Rogic out in the cold as far as I was thinking this time last season. But he really has made that number 10 role his own. Guys something else, couldn't imagine the team without him and I think even Brendan knows that as well. Which says a lot about both Rogic and Brendan.
That Rogic is that * good, and secondly that Rodgers is able to adapt even his own ideals for the better of the team.

this seemed to be ronny's downfall,

he often played players out of his postion to maintain his ideal formation and setup, rather than going with a sytsem that suits the team he has.

just shows you what an experienceed manager brings, as he has adapted the players to a system and that he actually has designedthe system to suit the team he has

Yeah, under Deila he seemed to go with formation and style as one and the same. Neither able to change.
Whereas with Rodgers his style is very much like Deila (albeit 5 years ahead), but he is allowing his formation to adapt with the squad so that it all works and is fluid. Both want high tempo and pressing games, but that can't work with two holding DMs (Bitton and Brown), which Rodgers has allowed to be adapted but Deila stuck by it and made the link between midfield and front line weak.
Rogic is certainly benefiting from it, massively.

I love how we switch formations during play as well, going from a traditional 4 at the back to a 3 with brown dropping and the full backs bombing forward. The versatility of the players and the flexibility in formation makes us a much harder team to play against compared with under Deila where every manager and his dug could predict our setup.

I felt our quality of play dropped after he got ruled out after the winter break for a wee while we lacked that cutting edge, thank * he is back now and playing 90 minutes no bother!

Wim Jansen was the last Manager I remember doing this sort of thing amazingly. Would set out a team with his standard formation/style and within ten minutes he could tell if we had the game under our control or not. If not, we completely changed it up there and then. Perfect to have the players capable of playing in multiple formations etc and able to adapt quickly. Like we have now!

Noticed a lot - more so last night, that both Tierney and Lustig were in their box last night, Jozo was playing playmaker or something on the edge of the box, and Brown was furthest back about 35yards out. The freedom in play is superb, and everyone knows what and where everyone is. This time last year we were still learning this stuff, but this season it seems to be right where we left off. Couple new guys taking time to adjust naturally, plus some regulars shacking off the preseason. But it's all clicking so much better and we can see positives everywhere.

Think that's when it clicked for me - and I hope Brendan as well. He is needed for this team to produce some magic, to take the attention away from Sinclair. To hold up the ball on the edge of the box etc. Think Brendan about then will have decided his team needed to adapt to suit Rogic in that hole. Rather than not have him. Hence we haven't exactly chased that CM that he said he wanted last year. Ntcham the exception.

The full backs pushing on like that, plus the movement of Sinclair and Forrest creates the space that allows Rogic to do his thing. Hope he stays fit (injury free) for most of the season. He could get an incredible amount of goals and assists.

Pretty much full of * in here if you think Rodgers has made him better, he's always had and showed it, nothing to do with BR. I hope he aint the one to make way for any of those new guys as he's on a different planet to them all.

Actually Ronnie saved his career after Lenny couldn't see the woods for the trees.

Love the way he receives and protects the ball under pressure. Real class how he turns defenders and breaks opposition lines. Still feel he can still improve the accuracy of his shooting from distance though.

Be interesting to see how TR copes with his fitness this season.
Until his ankle surgery he was struggling to complete 90 minutes, but playing across a summer can catch up with players later in the season.
