    I don't see how that's related.

Unless Leigh pulled out a marker and wrote UP THE RA! on it before holding it up. The madman.

An club official to look at banners, you really are a roaster!
What if the fans need to protest about the PLC around something? Instantly springing to mind is not taking any tickets for the first leg, an apt banner 'Football without fans is nothing.' Would we let the PLC sensor that?

    Fan ownership is the future!

Agree with your point but I'm not sure about 100% fan ownership.

It's breaking UEFA rules. Seems to be what many are using as their excuse to be offended

Obviously I apllauded the banner and raucously took part in chanting go on home british soldiers and other republican bangers last night but in the cold light of day I am outraged by the Green Brigades actions and they should be disbanded immediately

I think we both know that Leigh Griffiths wasn't charged because he removed a bottle.

    Absolutely spot on.

The club have benefitted massively in terms of commercial revenue off the back of the GB.

    Just can't get enough merchandise
Songs used in official website/Celtic TV programs
Banners plastered over Celtic Park for season ticket renewals.....the list goes on.

The double standards when it comes to "the club" when it comes to the GB is deplorable.

I'm surprised the bedwetters aren't up in arms about them standing in matches also......surely that's more of a UEFA-led 'issue' instead of a cupla humerous banners??

Maybe a debate for another day...and the board and PL deserve massive credit for some aspects of running the club. However if the fans owned the club we could hire the likes of PL but point the club in the direction we want. It will take time but it's the way forward.

The banner was a tribute to Roger from American Dad and the undefeated run.

I must say, this thread is a bit too 'IRA-ish' now.

How about we all calm down and stop supporting terrorism and settle down with a nice cup of tea and a wonderful rendition of * Save The Queen? If there's any Linfield fans still in Glasgow we can welcome them as our brethren.

    *Insert crab flute here*. :56:

Angel Villarreal is a high ranking FIFA official was arrested along with his son yesterday in Spain. Part of a corruption sting. Now tell me this is less political than the banner. I know we are dealing with UEFA but all branches of the same tree.

People took offence at things before the notion of political correctness existed. It doesnt really trouble me if people take offence at stuff and as a society we place far too much importance on avoiding offence.

That said, I think its dumb to go out of your way to be contentious and to set out to do things that you know will cause offence.

Of course the biggest nonsense of all is that those who seem to partake in offending their opposistes are often the first to cry when people target them. As I said earlier, when the GB are brushed off as illiterate neds playing rebel, quite a lot of people seem to take offence! The same people who supposedly arent worried about offensiveness...

On Hapoel, I didnt really support it or object to it at the time. But I thought the idea of raising money for charity off the back of the response was fantastic.
