We have been fined before for 'illicit' chanting - far worse went on last night (than happened in the game we got fined in) from the vast majority inside the stadium. Are these people actually Celtic supporters?

The guy was obviously meant to be a Provo and I won't insult anyone on here's intelligence and pretend otherwise, however I have just clocked the wee "Ultras" wording on the chest pocket and you could argue that they weren't many volunteers that went on operations in gear like that :giggle1:

My point is there is nothing on that banner that explicitly makes reference to the ra or indeed any particular organisation.

Well I'm a shareholder and I don't have a problem with the group or the banner..

The Green Brigade are a great asset to the club and represent the views of the support accurately.

Indeed but having been fined once before, why then are these supporters putting the club at risk of another fine? Clearly in it for themselves and not actual Celtic supporters. Say 40k there last night that fall into this category. A whopping great number that are apparently not Celtic supporters using logic above.

That's why marching bands were allowed at the first leg to show how UEFA abhor political statements

No, they represent their own views.

They do not speak collectively for ALL Celtic Supporters and I want you to take that comment back.

He never said they speak collectively for ALL Celtic supporters, he said they represent the views of the support accurately. Their was not any noticeable adverse reaction to the banners last night, on the contrary it urged the support on and the stadium went into fine voice. But what do match-going, rebel singing supporters matter - not even Celtic fans anyway.

If you sing rebel songs at the game you're not a Celtic fan?! * off!

The GB have purposefully acted in a way they know will bring negative attention to Celtic Football Club and a fine.

They have done this to continue feeling "edgy" and hard (it's the same reasons why they dress in what they perceive to be an intimidating manner) and should be forced to show all future banners to club officials prior to display.

It's the banner which has overstepped the line.

In my opinion they represent the views of the majority of the Celtic support.

The Green Brigade have never claimed to speak for every supporter.

I think the vast majority of fans appreciate what the GB contribute to the club.

Why not all fans in the stadium who sang 'edgy' songs given we have already been fined for 'illicit' chanting by UEFA?

I started a thread on how I thought the continued use of pyrotechnics was idiotic as it was landing us with fines for nothing other than a wee bit smoke & light. However to me this is much bigger, like it or not Celtic's Irish heritage is there and many have an affinity with it, myself included.

Just because some reptile at a desk at the SFA or UEFA have incorrectly deemed a non-sectarian song such as 'Boys of the Old Brigade' as one, does not make it so. It's no different from a litany of national anthems of people fighting alongside their compatriots. It's hypocrisy & ignorance and I have no intention to stop singing it on that basis.
