Sigurdsson is a top player, really underrated. But he isn't £50m, few players are.

 

you get 2-3 good players for £30 Mio on the continent. All you get in England for that sum is a bag of balls.
this won't go well in the long run in the current ecconomy.

 

You wonder how long this can continue where prices keep going up and up, in recent times even just the last 5 years prices have went through the roof.

I could see it ending up like NBA or NFL soon, where the money will become so big players are going to stop signing long term contracts and just sign for 1 or 2 years at a time for teams and gather massive wages and signing bonuses.

 

Last year Sigurdsson single handily kept Swansea in the premiership (which is estimated to be worth 100 million to a club, per year). They'd be crazy to ask for anything less than 50 million.

Seen Chelsea signed Rudiger and are closing in on Bakayoko, they may not be high profile signings like Lukaku, etc but once again they're probably bringing in the best additions from somewhat reasonable prices. They'll still need a striker though with Costa likely leaving due to his problems with Conte. If they get that sorted in terms of bringing in Morata/Aubameyang for example, then I think they'll probably retain the title. They already got a very talented squad and have by far the best manager in the division.
