Celtic have completed the signing of Manchester City midfielder Olivier Ntcham for a fee of £7million, France Football journalist Nabil Djellit reports tonight.

Info : c'est fait pour Oliver #Ntcham. Il rejoint le #Celtic pour 7 millions de pounds. 21 ans, milieu prometteur. A suivre...

    7:55 PM - 9 Jul 2017 · Boulogne-Billancourt, France

Ntcham’s move to Glasgow has happened quickly, little more than a day after various newspapers reported that Brendan Rodgers wanted the French youth international, who has spent the last two years on loan at Genoa.

The 21-year-old was spotted arriving in Glasgow yesterday and underwent a medical, with only an official announcement missing.

The fee has been reported to be £4million, but the word from Nabil Djellit is that it is a £7million deal, which would be quite a figure for a player who has not gotten anywhere near City’s first team. It’s possible that this could be £4million up-front with add-ons, which would link the two reported fees together.

Well when you see him pictured in Glasgow over the weekend and on our pitch admiring his soon to be surroundings I think we can conclude the deal is almost done.

Now all we need is Paddy back and perhaps another CB and we're good to go. Would like a new GK too but I doubt that will happen, I just hope Gordon doesn't turn out to be this eras Douglas i.e being the weak link of a very good side just as Douglas was in MONs time here.

Hayes and Eboue had early welcome threads. Expect this to be a done deal and announced tomorrow hopefully. Wonder what his shirt number could be. 4 and 7 available but those aren't really for midfielders. 13 is the lowest after them.

I agree with you Wanyama that we need another goalkeeper, however I don't think we could ever equate Gordon to the Brickie Rab Douglas.
    But DeVries :fear:

Watched a few clips of him there.

He looks very very much like a young version of Yaya Toure.

    I am delighted with this!

I'd give De Vries another shot over Gordon tbh, but yeah would love to get a new GK as I just don't have any faith in Gordon particularly in the bigger more intense high pressure games where I feel he bottles the occasion and makes lot's of mistakes and bad decisions.

The Scotland v England game the most recent example.

You know I loved Martin O' Neil or the Blessed Martin you could say.
But you know the one thing he had no clue about was what a good goalkeeper comprised of. And so he went out and bought a former bricklayer from Dundee to be his No.1 goalkeeper. * :55:

He had a very bad start to his time here with us I'll agree, however he didn't win Forests POTY for nowt. Have a look on YouTube and you'll witness some of the top drawer saves he was pulling off and he's also decent at saving penalties unlike Gordon. I've actually been impressed so far with De Vries during pre season and would give him another chance now that he has settled.

There was a lot of pressure on De Vries to perform straight away and maybe it got to him too much and affected his performances/focus.

We've already seen what Gordon can do and tbh he's been pretty horrific on the European stage for us in regards to goals conceded.

Let's see what De Vries can do, failing that then it's time we bring in abother GK.

I disagree, pulled off a few really good saves (Suarez in particular springs to mind and also Gundogan last min shot in 3-3 game) but he just can't be relied upon imo more often than not. Not got the mentality needed to be a Celtic GK on these nights in the way that Boruc and Forster had for us who could always be trusted upon to rise to the occasion.

Goals like Iheanacho's last season shouldn't be being conceded by any average GK.
