Celtic's Champions League season 17/18

This is the benefits now though. It's roughly the same batch of side's year in year out so we don't overly have any unknown quantities anymore. The one's around we've near enough played. Be'er Sheva. Qarabag. Astana etc..

We've now a settled manager and majority of squad who know what it takes to get there..

Couple of quality signings and i really feel we'll be feared in qualifying..

Changed day's from a 2 year ago when the Malmo manager was publicly saying he wanted us as he felt they could, and did do us..

 

Sides can and do change radically in just a season or two, though. Let's say we faced Malmo and their fans judged us on what they saw just a couple of seasons ago: they'd get the shock of their lives.

 

I don't think any of these unseeded side's have the finances by and large or the pull of a top class coach either though to be fair..

I think all of Europe will know we are a different animal now..

I don't know if that Norwegian * is still managing them but if he is, you think he'll still be desperate to pluck us out the hat this time? No chance..

If at least three of those teams get papped oot the CL qualifiers, then we would be in Pot 3 if we make it through our qualifiers. Not wanting to get ahead of ourselves but it's certainly possible and would give us a great chance of at least finishing 3rd in our group.

 

We should be better prepared this time around than previous years. Still a tough rope to walk.

This is spot on. If we make it to the groups, to be a third seed three have to go.

Napoli, Sevilla & Liverpool only have one qualifier to get through. They're all seeded.
Ajax & Kyiv have two qualifiers & seeded in both.
Olympiacos have two qualifiers to get through, again seeded in both.

Olympiacos will be coming through the Champions route with us, we can't meet them.

I think the three teams with two qualifiers to negotiate & Liverpool will be the best bet, Napoli & Sevilla should coast it. Need a lot to go in our favour.

Only four days to the draw, can't wait.

 

I think he's the national team manager now, or Sweden manager. Not sure.

Still though, would love to get payback for that game. That handball decision was a * disgrace.

 

Lagerback is the Norway manager mate. Read that earlier in the week as they were playing Sweden.

 

Think hareide (sp?) must be the Sweden manager then, sure I heard that during the man u v celta game when they were talking about guidetti

Yeah, the draw for the 1st and 2nd rounds is on Monday

 

He has been managing Denmark for the past year or so.

 

Slotting them again at Anfield would be CLASS. Just like 2003.

For player registration and CL eligibility players have to be registered for the following dates

List A has to be submitted by the following fixed deadlines:
a. 19 June 2017 (11pm GMT) for all matches in the first qualifying round;
b. 6 July 2017 (11pm GMT) for all matches in the second qualifying round;
c. 20 July 2017 (11pm GMT) for all matches in the third qualifying round;
d. 7 August 2017 (11pm GMT) for all matches in the play-offs;
e. 1 September 2017 (11pm GMT) for all further matches from the first match in the group stage up to and including the final.

 

Cant believe that this was just over 14 years ago

 

I watched it at The * Tavern in Euston where the No. 1 London CSC were then - and possibly still - located. The atmosphere was electric and the non Celtic fans I took with me were regular visitors to the pub for our games afterwards.

 

Can't see any of them have problems qualifying apart from Kyiv who I know * all about, the other 4 are really good sides and will be in the draw imo.
