That and the Heygate but can't mind any explosions. Funnily enough it's new big fancy blocks replacing both estate's. Bet they won't be as * as the old council type's..

Remember a big one in Millbank when I was younger as well..

    Scandalous what happened..

Aye just seen a bit on RT news about Theresa May's now right hand man Gavin Barwell never acted on enquiry warnings, don't expect our corrupt MSM to report it fully.

Complete and utter scum Gyp. Basically a * you to the working class again..

Don't know if it was here or wherever but 10 fire stations have closed in central London and further out in the city in recent year's which would've been able to get to Latimer Road pretty quickly. Another scandalous cut..

Have to say well done to the people of London helping out with stuff people need in a really terrible situation, and this is when the government should be stepping in and helping people, not left to ordinary people, but that tells you everything about the elite.

RIP to those who have died.

Am sure the inquiry will deal in facts and leave the more ridiculous claims for others.

If that's aimed at me you can * right off, there have been numerous high rise fires that have been ignored by OUR government.

Oh ffs this may come as a shock to you but not everything I post concerns yourself, so go and wind your neck in for a while. If you want to know why I said that, it was because I heard some brainless * gibbering on about how its a form of 'population control' earlier today, so unless you are in agreement with that carry on.

I know it wasn't the tallest of high rises, but I read that it was built in 1974, the same year as The Towering Inferno was released.

In the film, Steve McQueen's character, Fire Chief Mike O'Halloran, delivers the chillingly prophetic line "Now, you know there's no sure way for us to fight a fire in anything over the seventh floor, but you guys just keep building 'em as high as you can."

Sounds very coincidental, so do you think this Stevie McQueen has done it?

Going by what the paramedic said earlier, that nobody on the top 3 floors survived you're looking at about 50 fatalities there alone. There's probably going to be over a hundred dead. It's horrifying that this could happen in the UK. I seriously hope they hammer the responsible parties.

Its really sad to say but I can believe that, in building so tall full of residents there is bound to be some truth to it.

Also you'd hate to use this a political point scoring against te Tories and everyone who voted against changes in making homes fit for habitation, but again it pains to say that I just don't see any other way these horrible reptilian scum can be brought to task and called out for the direct effect they've had in this.

How did I miss this yesterday?

Truly, truly sad. RIP. We won't know the full extent of this for some time, but logic reasons that the final deathtoll could be appalling. 1am when he fire started and a lot of people would be asleep. BBC reports saying fire crews rescued 65 adults and children in a complex where hundreds of people lived, nevermind guests that may have been staying over at the time etc that could take the figure of people missing even higher. Truly terrible and am sure our collective hopes, thoughts and condolences are with the families and friends of those still missing and those confirmed as deceased.
