I worked in mothers pride bakery in Belfast. Every single baked product you see in a supermarket (excuis made to the same recipe. Just put in different packaging.
So next time you lift that branded loaf in tescos that costs a quid, it is the same as the one at the bottom of the rack that costs 50p

Ours uses different flour fats and conditioners in the more expensive brands, the bog standard stuff is just flour water brine and yeast basically.

This is an industrial bakery, * hated it. At first I thought it was Christmas working half hour on half hour off. Due to the heat. Soon gets boring.
Like most big factories with skilled workers here the Place was full of orange * who wouldn't acknowledge you.

When working in morrisons, it wasn't unusual to bring a delievery in and find products branded as Sainsbury's or tesco own brand.

Talking of stornoway black pudding, i work in a butcher shop in shetland, had a glasgow boy in about a year ago asking if we had any stornoway black pudding, said aye and how many slice? He asked if he could buy a box load of the stuff.
Suggested that we are open every day (minus Sunday) so he could come get fresh stuff another day.
He said "nah, im on the boat tomorrow and want to take some back to glasgow with me. I can only every get this here".

Aye pal, because the nice people on stornoway decided the only place they were selling their product is * shetland.
Shipping it to the mainland, through Glasgow/aberdeen and on to a big truck to go to shetland, just not bothering with the potential millions of sales on the main land.

Mortons roll with square sausage. Gave one of them to an English guy recently and he * loved it, better than the soft roll bap * they have.

One of the best breakfasts I've ever had was in a diner in Chicago, a ham and cheese omelette on top of a load of hash browns, covered in red sauce. Lovely coffee with it as well.

Belafst bap with four slices of fried bacon, two boiled eggs, class of coke, mug of strong black tea, ciggie and the andytown news for some reading. Lovely
